Please be in prayer for our LadyX. She will be undergoing surgery tomorrow morning(5/24/06). Any of you who know LadyX, know that she has been a member of our FR Family for a long time and is very much loved and respected. She has inspired us, made us laugh, given us some of the wisest of advice, wowed us with tales of her life in the Marines, and shared her childhood memories of an idealic time. Some will recall the sailing of the Mobius, or the time on the tropical island. We have shared many adventures. Now, it's time to let her know how much she is loved.
Post your prayers, encouragements, jokes, pictures or memories, so she will have them to read when she gets back home.

I am in shock since I saw FR's Finest thread was dedicated to Maggie and even more shocked to find out why.
I really don't know what to post but I'm thinking of a nice tribute for Maggie.
May she rest peacfully in the arms of our Lord.

This one woman gave an entirely new dimension to the words, Honor, Courage, and Commitment. She embodied everything that she was taught at Parris Island. I shared the news of her passing with members of Oscar Company, Platoon 4022 yesterday during Liberty Sunday at Parris Island. There were some moist eyes when I told them about the Molly Marine, Lady X.
These Recruits will earn the title that Maggie was so proud of this Friday at graduation when they will become Marines.

"Early this week, I will be so honored, again, to be on a parade deck with newly trained Marines. This time, however, you can bet the house I will be carrying a flag in honor of Maggie."
May it be both uplifting and lasting in nature. Perhaps as I write you already are participating in this event.
If not, may the Lord bless this day for you. Stand smartly at attention, and share the spirit of honor that will float through the air.

Perhaps you have information on Maggie's military career you can post? She truly was a wonderful woman! BTW, love your tagline.

Is there any chance you could lay some white flowers on the memorial in her honor and in her memory?

I will print your tribute to her and place it at the Molly Marine statue, as well as hand it out to those brand new women Marines!

Thank you, dear Chieftan. "LadyX returning to Parris Island in 2002 - 50 years after entering the U.S. Marine Corps in 1952. Instructed Women Recruits in Classoom Subjects during the Korean Conflict, the greatest buildup in Corps history. The replica of the Iwo Jima Monument on the Parade Deck behind me was dedicated in August of '52. In the Dedication Ceremony were eight full companies participating, with the WM Company "A" leading it. It was my high honor to be out front with our Company Commander as Guidon Bearer, carrying proudly the American Flag, and with the other seven Guidon Bearers going 'Front & Center' to salute the Reviewing Dignitaries."

Just pulled in from three days on the road from Florida to Illinois. I was so sad to click on to freep and to read the news about Lady X.
Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of this noble warrior. She fought the good fight. Now she's at peace in the bosom of our Lord.

Thank you for sharing a part of Maggie's life with members of Oscar Company, Platoon 4022 I can tell you Ladyx is proud of each of your Recruits. If I may tell you what Maggie said just a few days before her passing. I was with her at 0700 as she was being cleaned up for the day's dialysis. A new nurse stepped in her room. I introduced Maggie as my wife an ex marine, (major error). Her face came to attention and in no uncertain terms she stated firmly and clearly. " I am still a Marine!".
Needless to point out after 45 years being her husband she did not hesitate to retrain this recruit promptly. She had never forgot who she was. A Marine first, then a wife and mother. Semper Fi

Very saddened to hear this news. She is among the angels now.

Good morning love. How are we doing? Don't know about you, but I'm having trouble getting back to the old routine, and I've got a ton of stuff to get done before Friday. Yes, those Marines are always a Marine first. My husband is the the same way. I wouldn't dare refer to him as an ex-marine. As a former Sgt. he is also prone to "bark" orders instead of requesting. I try to tell him that people will think he beats me by the way he speaks to me sometimes. I know that he loves me and would never touch a hair on my head, but he just can't lose that Marine voice. LOL. It's about doing things "right" and having "order". That is hammered into a Marine and set like concrete. It makes the best and most disciplined people in the world. I couldn't be married to anyone else.
I pray that the days become easier for you and the family. Keep talking about Maggie as long as you need to. Some of us will always be here.
Loveya. Nan
