With the Senate headed toward a final vote on an immigration bill this week, a leader of House conservatives is asking his colleagues to support a free-market plan aimed at bridging the gulf between the versions in the two chambers. The proposal by Rep.Mike Pence (R-Ind.), provided to TIME ahead of an unveiling speech at the Heritage Foundation, is arguably less compassionate than the version being debated in the Senate and supported in principle by President George W. Bush. But it looks to be more palatable to House Republicans, many of whom have opposed creating a guest worker program before new border crackdowns have been given a chance to work.
Pence, a rising star in the House, is suggesting a temporary worker program based on a data base run by private industry. And unlike the leading plan in the Senate and the blueprint sketched by Bush, his Border Integrity and Immigration Reform Act would require all applicants to leave the country first.Pence tweaks a phrase from Bushs address to the nation by calling the compromise a REAL rational middle ground. Even though Bush has said his preferred solution aint amnesty, Pence appeals to hard-liners by calling the compromise a no-amnesty solution.
The solution is to set up a system that will encourage illegal aliens to self-deport and come back legally as guest workers, Pence, the grandson of an Irish immigrant, says in prepared remarks. The visa will be issued only outside of the United States.Outside of the United States. That is a key point because it is the provision that will require the twelve million illegal aliens to leave. Now, some of you are thinking to yourselves that 12 million people arent going to pack up and leave just to get a visa to come back legally. But,I believe most will.

Don't you believe that a euro-white majority in the US should be preserved?
Whether it is 'them' the policitians or 'them' the illegals, I don't give a whit about their political problems.
Their political problems become everyone's problems. We are discovering that at present.
Not really. The "guests" would have to go back to Mexico to get their visa. Otherwise be deported.
No, I believe the non-white, latino majority of Mexico should be preserved. ;)
Their political problems become everyone's problems. We are discovering that at present.
Brother, ain't that the truth.
It doesn't seem to address the question of how many immigrants we should let in. The problems the illegals bring isn't so much related to their legal status but to their volume. Also the skills (or lack of) that they bring with them. Twelve million plus immigrants from essentially one country, mostly undereducated, and resistant to speaking English will create severe cultural and economic consequences for native-born Americans whether they arrived legaly or illegally.
If we can micro chip our dogs and cats, why can't we micro chip illegals?????
Wow. Why is this important?
With tis list of lawlessnes and flagrant violations of the law those who are responsible for failure to enforce the law are committing deriliction of duty. Sadly, these days they are Republicans, all the way to the top. Today, we have 280,000,000 people in this ccountry. With these liberalized laws proplsed it is said by Congressman Rohrbacher of California, that we will import another 150,000,000 tp 200,000,000 in the next 20 years. This country cannot absorb that number of people. We will liberalize these laws at our peril. Very discouraging. It would be better to try to develope Mexico rather than jam these people up here in the USA.
The way you and sinkspur stalk these threads would seem to make you the "single-issue" voters...
Apparently, your only issue is being against something conservative. I'd bet a good look at your posting history would reveal a problem with "multiple" issues that fall under the conservative banner.
Come back and tell me about it AFTER the borders have been sealed.
Wow. Why is this important?
For the same reason it would be important to Australians and European nations.
Do you believe all predominantly white nations should allow themselves to become white minority nations, or just the US?
A.) US citizen committing forgery and tax fraud = 25 years in jail.
B.) Illegal alien committing forgery and tax fraud = US citizenship, no jail time, keep the benefits (Social Security) of the forgery and fraud
And yet, according to El Presidente, were a nation of laws, and he opposes amnesty.
Brilliant summary!
Because the most stable, successful, prosperous, humane, and free civilization in the history of the world was created by these euro-white people.
You wanna bash'em...go for it.
It's called common courtesy, and you can't seem to summon it up.
Skin color doesn't matter to me.
There's a name for those who are always worried about skin color.
Why? I knew you would find this thread...
Just wanted you to prove my point.
LOL
Yes. And when it was established, those euro-whites held blacks in enslavement. So, it was "free" for everybody but those blacks.
You may as well face the fact that this country will, eventually, be largely Hispanic. You and I may be dead by then, but it is inevitable, unless white families start reproducing at about double the current rate.
You see? I didn't even realize you had already posted on this thread. It was a given.
Ping me when you mention me, buster.
That's only because turncoats like you allow it to happen. It is not inevitable. We only lack the will, not the means, to secure the borders and turn back the invaders.
