NEW ORLEANS — Voters were deciding Saturday whether incumbent Mayor Ray Nagin or challenger Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu should oversee this city's long recovery from Hurricane Katrina — one of the largest reconstruction projects in U.S. history.
Whoever wins the too-close-to-call election takes office a day before the June 1 start of the next hurricane season in a city where streets are still strewn with rusting, mud-covered cars and entire neighborhoods consist of homes that are empty shells.

well its an eternity in politics till then but at this point the only way Jindal I think could lose if he was caught in bed with a live boy or a dead girl. The latest poll is showing her support at 35 percent. She is the 4th least popular Governor in the nation

not looking so good for Nagin with 43% of pcts counted, it's 53% Landrieu and 47% Nagin .. but I don't know WHICH precincts or what that means anyway
The Landrieu family kill fewer people though, and not as many of them are druggies and drunks.
That is why I think it would be better if Nagin wins...he may be a buffoon...but, he will be watched.
If Landrieu wins, he has a sister that will be getting the money in Washington, and shoveling it right into his pockets.
THAT will be OUR money...but, if Nagin wins, he can bumble his way through another hurricane..but, I doubt if the money will be shoveled into HIS pocket...like it will Mitch's.
I think its Jindals if he doesnt mess it up and something massively unforseen. Of course we Republicans are going to work hard to make sure that happens. As long as Bobby as seen as being an effective liason to the Feds and the Executive he will do fine
