AP: "Too Close to Call"
NEW ORLEANS Voters were deciding Saturday whether incumbent Mayor Ray Nagin or challenger Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu should oversee this city's long recovery from Hurricane Katrina one of the largest reconstruction projects in U.S. history.
Whoever wins the too-close-to-call election takes office a day before the June 1 start of the next hurricane season in a city where streets are still strewn with rusting, mud-covered cars and entire neighborhoods consist of homes that are empty shells.

Nagin is the "Devil You Know."
Shows Nagin leading with 75% of the vote.
This are interesting numbers. If this is from white areas then Landrieu is in trouble
67 of 442 Precincts 15%
Mitch Landrieu 7,288 52%
Ray Nagin (I) 6,824 48%
Interesting. Thanks.
I'm shocked some marketing exec at Heineken didn't seize on that photo for their "It's All About the Beer" campaign.
My gosh if this is true the Republicans and whites returned to Nagin bigtime . The national and State Dems wanted MItch to win badly.
Sounds like the old FR arguments about the "Stupid Party" versus the "Evil Party". Not suprising that we would be voting for stupid.
I forgive Nagin the stupidity really belongs to the Governor.
check out 26. I about choked.
Incompetence can be influenced by "us"...Corruption will ruin the state. I agree with your statement.
Is there a web sight to pick up the latest election results or will you continue to post on here? Thanks
Lex
I go with that. After all who was bussed into New Orleans?
116 of 442 Precincts 26%
Mitch Landrieu 13,377 55%
Ray Nagin (I) 11,004 45%
I have to hold my nose, but I hope Nagin wins. He's a buffoon, but I don't think he can do as much damage as Landrieu. With Moon Jr. in charge, millions of federal dollars would literally go down the toilet.
I will continue to post but here is the link

My 55% prediction is wrong. The black vote is down. One of the black districts is in about as much as totals, without that many votes. One of the five white districts is disproportionately in, one, the uptown district, is not in much. This is a tossup.
What sucks of course is that nagin has no machine to get his vote out. I dont know how he beats that
I have a feeling that is the "norm" nowdays...
I watched two debates between these two on MSNBC..with Chrissy Matthews being the moderator...and I don't know WHO made a bigger fool of themselves, Nagin, Landrieu, or Matthews....I wouldn't trust my dog with any of the three of them.
