In recent months, ABC reporter Bill Blakemore has been a passionate proponent for getting all that harmful objectivity and balance out of reporting on the impending disaster of global warming. So it shouldn't be surprising -- it should flow naturally, like a melting glacier -- that Blakemore is using ABC's World Newser blog to plug Al Gore's new documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." The filmmakers could use Blakemore's review here as a promotional blurb. He calls it "96 minutes well spent," says "Regardless of your politics, it's riveting and informative," not to mention "remarkably clear, concise, and informative."

He's a legend!!! in his own mind...
...and proving you are WAAAAY more educated than the reporter, AND his Goreness.
Me either (post 14)
Or out having an iced tea.
Sure glad I never, ever, watch ABC ...
"The elements be kind to thee, and make thy spirits all of comfort: fare thee well !" ~ Ant & Cleo, Act iii, Sc.2
When will be be rid of this buffoon? I'll even take the week-long "Gore Bore-a-thon Memorial Fundraiser" that his funeral will bring upon us. I can already see Clinton catterwalling and practically crawling into his casket. *Rolleyes*
He made comparisons to Shakespeare there as well. To 'Henry V', if I recall correctly:
"Once more into their breeches, dear friends, once more...."
No way will I support algore for anything. This so-called movie is not only propaganda, but also a campaign speech for his 2008 presidential run, IMHO.
Implying that GW skeptics are unreasonable? Not this one.
Either, climate will change radically in the next 20 to 50 years, killing tens or hundreds of millions. Or it won't.
False dichotomy. The science is poorly understood so there is some uncertainty. But there is no tipping point, runaway greenhouse, or any other such nonsense that is possible without heavy bias towards speculative models.
Apropos bathrooms: Al Gore must be recognized as the Father (or Mother) of one of the greatest environmental advances of the previous century, the Federally mandated low-volume flush toilet, which came directly fromn the work of a commitee he headed. ("Headed," get it?)
Before Al Gore, an American flush toilet did its business with a mighty Niagara-like roar of 8-10 gallons. Away. Done. After Al Gore, the Federally mandated toilet can take as many as four or five feeble 6-gallon water-saving flushs to work its magic.
Al Gore's Greens are proud that they are saving us 2 gallons per flush. In fact, (and I know that many real people will not believe this) many Greens advocate that a family flush once a day. No Sheet.
That is why I think of Al Gore once a day. Sometimes twice. And that is why there is an underground 'black market' in old toilets. Al Gore: Inventor of the Internet, Film Maker, Plumber's Friend, and future POTUS? Waddaguy.
-- Wm. Shakespeare, Macbeth
"Of every malice that gives Heaven offence,
Injury is the aim; such aim again
Grieves others whether by Fraud or Violence.
But because Fraud is man's peculiar bane,
God loathes it more; and so the fraudulent
Are placed beneath, assailed with greater pain."
-- Dante Alighieri, Canto XI, Inferno
Yeah, I see the connection ...
And, to think how close we came to having this idiot as POTUS.
I wonder if Bill Blakemore left a stain on al's blue sportscoat?
LLS
Indeed. He certainly fancies himself to be quite a special little brightboy, doesn't he?
That's easy, get rid of HBO. It's nothing but Hollywood crap anyway.
How can these people survive daily life, let alone walk on two legs?
Simply amazing!
You're reply is quite reasonable. But you're implication is not. I think I was speaking the simple truth - there are simply not enough reasonable people around to make a difference.
False dichotomy...But there is no tipping point, runaway greenhouse, or any other such nonsense that is possible without heavy bias towards speculative models.
Really?
You're saying that no large-scale change in climate is at all likely within the next 50 years and therefore any preventative action taken now is premature and not warrented by the science, the facts, or the possible consequences.
That's completely at odds with a large segment of the scientific community. You could be right...but it's also reasonable to think you could be wrong.
My dichotomy stands.
