BUSH SET FOR IMMIGRATION SPEECH WHITE HOUSE President Bush is getting set for a prime-time speech on Aides note the 8 p-m, Eastern Time, speech will be the president's first from the Oval Office that does not involve Iraq and the war on terrorism. And they say that reflects Bush's He's speaking as the Senate is poised to clear a compromise measure including his idea for a guest worker program. However, a rival House bill is limited to a border crackdown, and meshing the two won't be easy. Stand Up For America ! |

'Night, FRiends. I shall call it a day also.
Goodnight La Dita!
Yesterday I mentioned that some in the House were considering a compromise that was picking up steam. Basically it was to NOT give amnesty/citizenship to the illegals already here, but to allow them to LEGALLY participate in a work program. Maybe they figured out that the agenda of the illegals is more about NOT being a felon and deported, and less about 'earning' citizenship in a country the say was stolen from them.
Rove visited the house yesterday and was not very persuasive, they say. The person I've seen on TV the most who's been really standing firm on the House's 'no amnesty' is Hayworth. Bush is flying down to the border today. He's taking Hayworth with him. Nothing like a litte more pressure.
La...thank you kindly for the pings I appreciate it greatly. I am hopelessly behind in my FR time...but plan to catch-up soon. Your pings have helped me keep in touch with the different threads.
Anybody catch what that Kennedy amendment was that passed? It didn't sound very good, but passed.
Byrd, lol, today the Senate finds itself again, considering yet ANOTHER bill FOR AMNESTY!
Wow, he's on the right topic today and the right side of the fence. :-)
The steam in the House was set in place, when HR 4437 was passed by broad bipartisan support. The House Bill DID NOT grant or support any AMNESTY. All that was necessary was the Senate Judiciary Committee approve and send HR 4437 out on the Senate floor for debate.
Now, as were painfully watching, the reinventing of the wheel by the Washington "Bloviating Fiddlers." When the symphony is finally finished, the two judiciary committees, House and Senate will have a tug-o-war compromise. Meanwhile, during this great concert, 3000 illegals are still daily darting from cactus to cactus, to illegally enter the U.S.!
One of the elephants in the room, that no one talks about, is the rising tensions in large cities -- Like Los Angeles (we get their news here)-- between the Black community and the Hispanic community. If and when a new riot breaks out in Los Angeles I think it will be racial tensions that triggers it.
If I am right, it explains the President and McCain being in lockstep on this, but doesn't explain why this guy has so much influence over the direction our country is taking.
Check out this link, I'm short on time this morning but they have been investigating Allyn.......

LOL, and thank you, always, for any clarification or feedback. As you all can probably tell, I haven't a bit of experience in politics, prior to the 2004 election. None. From you all here and my friends at the swifty site, I am learning.
Admitting that, I am relieved to be able to ask, what the heck is a RINO?
lol, thank you.
Anybody catch what that Kennedy amendment was that passed? It didn't sound very good, but passed.
The illegal does NOT need to be sponsored by an EMPLOYER in order to get a GREEN CARD.
The more, and more our benevolent Senator McCain gets in front of the lights, the dimmer, and dimmer his prospects for a Dog Catchers job become, let alone the president of this great nation.
If you ever listened to Laura Ingraham's sound bytes of hypocritical statements made by John McCain, or Ted Kennedy laughers, that will be used over and over to show that McCain has torpedoed himself. Plus, any RINO, which in my opinion McCain is, that makes a pack with, or even stands on the same podium with Ted Kennedy, has to have their political head examined.
I heard Senator Jon Kyl last night on local radio. He sounded pretty upbeat. The one exception was, he stated there was some resistance, with a few senators pertaining to to a national alien ID card.
I really like Kyl and Pray for his re-election. McCain is making strange bedfellows and, hopefully, will come back to bite him in a couple of years.
Ensign Immigration Amendment
Immigrants can't get SS benefits until they meet legal requirements for employment.
Motion to Kill Ensign
Immigrants can't get Social Security benefits for payments made prior to being legally able to work.
Argument:
An illegal immigrant, in order to get work, sometimes fabricates or uses a stolen social security number.
McCain says that accordance with the bill, when the illegal is made legal, he is and should be forgiven for having 'stolen' the number and should be able to collect ALL of the money he paid into social security. That it would be 'unfair' not to. This is in the current Bill. What would normally be a felony (fabricated documents, stolen identity) ARE FORGIVEN.
Argument against showed evidence of American citizens whose lives have been destroyed because of identity theft and who, in some cases, ALL of their social security up to that point is 'wiped out' and they must start from scratch.
WHY ARE THESE SENATORS PANDERING, KISSING THE BUTTS OF THE ILLEGALS? AMNESTY IS BAD ENOUGH....THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.
Vote on Motion to Kill Ensign
Looking for text of the current Senate Bill that was posted here earlier. Anyone have a link or the Post #. I really wish this site had a search feature that worked for more than just members and thread titles.

So far, Senator Jon Kyl has been OK, and in my opinion, will get re elected. McCain on the other hand, is sitting on his own cloud, that is rapidly vaporising.
I wish, that McCain, along with the likes of "Hanoi John Kerry" and Rep. John (Code Pink) Murtha, who has been a national embarrassment, should either be voted out, or step out of politics. All should be thanked for serving our country, but their time has long passed, as all are doing more damage now, than good.
Very informative thank you-saving to read
