Have you any clue how much ILLEGAL ALIENS run up in costs that taxpayers have to absorb?

If I am not mistaken, I saw having a bit of back and forth earlier tonight with a poster who was hot-convinced that he could produce hard data to straighten you out.

In any case, let me say that I wouldn't accept an analysis if it were done jointly by all living Nobel econ laureates if it contradicted what you and I can plainly see in front of us.

This kind of "accounting" is so filled with judgment calls that it can be made to show ANYTHING. Since the academic types who mostly do this sort of analysis are overwhelmingly liberal, I have had to retreat to the old know-nothing position: I don't wanna hear none of your stinkin', left-slanted evidence!

I am noticing that in my prosperous area that is fast losing its quality of life to serious urban traffic, crime, etc., we always hear the cry that we must make concessions to attract investment and development so as to grow the tax base. But then when the development arrives, these same government financial wizzards tell us that property taxes must be raised to finance more schools and roads made necessary by all the development.

So one day their number show that the development is our financial salvation and then, later, they tell us about all our new debt. Just one illustration about how these kinds of figures can be made to show whatever someone wants to show. And this kind of analysis is much less subjective than something like the net impact of illegals.

I rely on direct observation and common sense analysis. These things tell me that illegals are costing us a ton.

YOU have the best answer I have seen yet:

"I think that mass deportations would be a real mistake as it would it give the illegals a real sympathetic halo.

I feel the best way is a two pronged approach. Cut off the flow by building a way and at the same time, cut off the demand by cracking down on employers of illegals.

The crackdowns on employers must include criminal penalties and not just simple fines for it ever to be effective."

BUMP!

I don't know about Hayden Lake or buttwipes. : )

Once upon a time, Hayden Lake (sits right next to Couer D'Lane, in Northern Idaho) used to be infested by Nazi, White Supremist skinhead types. There leader was named Butler (can't rememeber the old coot's first name)

Anyway, these "buttwipes" used to march in downtown Couer D'Lane every year, swastikas and all. Every year, they would meet up at the BUTTHEAD, er, Butler compound, in Hayden Lake. It was considered a refuge for every racist skinhead, nazi, all over the nation.

Contrary to popular belief, many of the locals didn't think much of them either.

I can't remember the details, (Cardinal you might know?) but somehow he lost his compound in a lawsuit. The property was dispersed, he lived his remaining, miserable days in a small modest house in Hayden. He passed away some 2-3 years ago.

Have you any clue how much ILLEGAL ALIENS run up in costs that taxpayers have to absorb? Hospitals close because of this. Public schools are inundated and water down the resources targeted for LEGAL CITIZENS children. By NO MEANS do the ILLEGALS even come close to compensating for what they run up in costs they are paid by LEGAL CITIZENS.

How much do the illegal alien prisoners cost to house? Let alone the cost of crimes committed and the rapes and murders they commit here.

The Pentagon is looking at ways the military can help provide more security along the U.S. southern border, defense officials said Thursday, once again drawing the nation's armed forces into a politically sensitive domestic role.

Defending our border with another country isn't a domestic role.

Right.

But, IF they use this as a pretext to gut the Posse Comitatus Act, I will start feeling really creepy.

Fortunately, like I said, it's beautiful once again, and in more ways than one.

Great place to visit too, if you like hiking, biking, boating, in some of the most gorgeous timber areas around.

And darned nice people too. (of course, I'm biased :)

"Please get a life. The point is its alot easier to scale a fence than to get past a soldier with an M16 in his hands. Tough concept I understand."

Thanks, I have a life. The point is that we shouldn't be advocating killing people for coming across the border. If we build a wall and it is guarded, almost no one will even try to enter. Tough concept, I understand.

"Bush is laying the ground work for eating the Rats"

LOL, yes he is, but but we dragged him there and he kicked and screamed the hold way. LOL, anyway now let the democrats try to defend open borders and massive illegal immigration. Let try, they will go down in flames. Let them bad mount the NSA, for trying to protect the usa. Now at last we get expose the Rats as the anti-American commies that they really are. Bush is late but better late then never. If this is for real then the revolt in the GOP is over, thank G*d.

How much of a recession are you willing to allow in order to rid the U.S. of every illegal alien?

How about MOST illegal aliens? Would you be ok with seeing MOST illegal aliens going home? You're taking an extremely short-sighted view of the situation. Yes I am absolutely willing to see a temporary recession if it resulted in the massive long-term benefits of no more illegal immigration. Short term pain for long term benefit trumps short term benefit for long term catastrophe every time.

I am just questioning the racism dripping from these posters if you weren't so dense.

I don't see anyone advocating deporting all people of a particular race, unless you consider Illegal Alien a race. If so, guess who the racist is.

Just heard at the top of the hour that King Bill is against deployment of any NM Guard members to the border. In a short interview on ABC news, he said the guardsmen were "too tired, they have been fighting forest fires", it is the responsibility of the federal government, not the states.

What a duplicitous SOB after calling for a "state of emergency"; when action is actually to be taken, he backs off and changes his mind. I'm glad the President is actually thinking about calling Bill's bluff.

Thanks for the ping. I thought the same thing when I heard Richardson. He's such a pig. You can tell he loves to make Bush look bad. He doesn't want his ratings to improve because he's hoping the RATS will capture the House and Senate. He's expecting to be President and would love to have control of the House and Senate.

Who's building this wall? I'll believe it when I see it. In the mean time there is no substitute to boots on the ground.

If it is the right thing to announce Monday May 15, 2006 it WAS the right thing to announce and DO on Sept. 12, 2001.

(of course it was and is)

Too bad Bush had to wait this long and do such serious damage to his party and the country.

We must realize this is a set up to get the House to cave. Before much time goes by, it will become obvious it is back to business as usual.

Two years from now, we will hear that most workers have NOT "registered" and that the admiinistrative systems are not yet working.

Blah. Blah.

The wall I have heard would cost about $4.6 Billion. It may not stop the boat traffic, but it would stop most if not all of the illegal crossings. I have a cousin in the Minute Man organization. He is telling me that the same technology used in prison fences would be used. They are talking about a 16 foot steel fence pitched at an angle to make climbing impossible. On top would be razor wire. Built in would be motion sensors and beams. Other electronic security measures would also be used: infrared sensing cameras, drones with cameras, etc.

. If Fox is the high point for Mexico, all the more reason for us to separate with a wall and the national guard.
