ORLANDO, Fla. - President Bush, his approval ratings at a record low, acknowledged Wednesday that war in Iraq and rising gas prices have created "battle fatigue" among many Americans.
That anxiety, Bush said, has settled over much of the nation as people worry about whether the United States will succeed in Iraq and how they will afford to fill up their tanks.
"There's a sense of disquiet because of the war in Iraq," said Bush, in an hour-long interview with the Orlando Sentinel and six other Florida newspapers.

You're clueless ... I was in Colorado Springs last fall and AF1 was parked at Peterson Field ... Bush was at NORAD doing precisely that ... monitoring another hurricane. Evidently he learned something from Katrina. You've no doubt heard of satellite imaging ... NORAD does it better than anyone.
I spose you wouldn't know a REAL conservative if you tripped over one. Go pester someone who cares : )
What ever floats you boat, buddy. It's a free country. Vote for who you want. I don't need to hear your reasons.
Our best people are Jindal, Vitter and McCrery. We voted for Jindal when he ran against Blanko (spit) Just too many racist in the north east and liberals in NO for him to win. But, maybe he'll run for Gov. in '07 or run against Landrieu (double spit) in '08.
Until then, we just buy lots of vaesline and hope it don't hurt too much.
Got those Dem talking points down pat I see.
My #1 problem w/ the prez is his wiretapping and general sense of invading our privacy.
Your #1 problem on this forum will most likely be the idiotic statement you made right there. If your privacy has been invaded, (which it hasn't) then you have either made contact with or attempted to make contact with a known or suspected terrorist who was already under surveillance. Or it is possible that you did something else that raised enough suspicion that the NSA or somebody else went through the red tape of getting a warrant to investigate you. Otherwise, your privacy hasn't been invaded.
Everyone will; sooner rather than later hopefully.. However most Americans do not even know the name of the Vice President let alone Secretary of State.. As Ann Coulter said, 20% are democrats(liberals), 20% are republicans(conservatives), and 60% are morons.. She was of couse being nice its much worse than that.. The Federal School system has dumbed them down.. (by the way as John Birch suggested would happen)..
Our inept, corrupt, and absolutely stupid politicians are to blame.
I'm sorry. Maybe over time....Yall just don't get any more storms this year though. We are still NO fatigued:')
Don't mind if I do! lol
When it comes to immigration reform Bush didn't say anything new in that article. The problem is, I don't believe for a minute that he or the senate are at all serious about enforcing our southern border. The only way I'd believe them now would be if a border enforcement-only bill got passed, got signed into law, got funded and then implemented.
Until then, I just assume that all they're doing is flapping their lips. It wouldn't hurt them any to stop the flow of illegals first and then tackle the guest-worker hogwash at a later date. As things stand now, I feel like I'm being given the bum's rush.
Fortunately for the President, apparently nobody cares about profligate Federal spending. It's only gas prices and Iraq that have America's panties in a bunch.
Like it or not that's the conclusion I came to ... I pay little or no attention to liberal talking heads.
My #1 problem w/ the prez is his wiretapping and general sense of invading our privacy.
We are so sorry to disappoint you that we will now entertain you with lots of pictures of cats and lightning.

If you think algore really won the Florida election, but the mean old US Supreme Court wouldn't allow the rules for counting ballots to be changed to your liking ... you must be a troll.
If you think the economy would be doing better if Congress hadn't passed those piddly little tax cuts ... you must be a troll.
If you think foreign policy under an algore administration or that of any of the current democrat wannabees would make us safer from attack from our enemies ... you must be a troll.

That's your pat answer everytime someone calls you on it. Turn the record over, that side is getting old.
I am really disappointed in all of you. This is free republic right? What has W done that should be scaring the crap out of everyone here?My #1 problem w/ the prez is his wiretapping and general sense of invading our privacy.
I guess there's a possibility the guy is just an ignorant buffoon rather than a troll, but it's worth looking into.
Nixon and W are very similar ideoligically speaking. I credit the internet (FreeRepublic) and talk radio for keeping him as conservative as he has been. Nixon had even less feedback from his base than W has and the DC establichment talked him into a lot of liberal boondoggles - like wage and price controls. For this reason, I believe all this criticism is and has been valuable in holding the line even a little. I criticise W a lot, but if he were running again, I would STILL vote for him. I just hope we can find another Reagan somewhere for 2008.
I agree.
My goodness, Is this the level to which your defensive apologia for bad presidential policies has fallen?
To say GWB is a criminal is ridiculous.
To however say some of his policies are misguided is not.
