Bush addresses drop in approval ratings

ORLANDO, Fla. - President Bush, his approval ratings at a record low, acknowledged Wednesday that war in Iraq and rising gas prices have created "battle fatigue" among many Americans.

That anxiety, Bush said, has settled over much of the nation as people worry about whether the United States will succeed in Iraq and how they will afford to fill up their tanks.

"There's a sense of disquiet because of the war in Iraq," said Bush, in an hour-long interview with the Orlando Sentinel and six other Florida newspapers.

Ok. And does he continue to fight for ANWR? Is he out there fighting to repeal gas taxes and energy surcharges? No. He wants investigations into oil companys. Brilliant.

Oh how I agree with that. Anwr should be drilled, to hell with the grass and mosquitos.

[ Yes I do. I'm really surprised you're still here, given your loony Birchite notions in EVERY post1 ]

Birchite?.. The John Birch Society is becoming more and more accurate as the day(s) goes on.. Course the Birchers were mainly conserned with Socialism(communism) which does lie at the base of whats happening now... The Globalists trump the communists(socialists) today.. However the socialists always wanted a World Republic of Socialism..

Booosh is a Globalist you see.. NO?... PROVE IT...
His actions prove it.. by domestic politics.. WHY? America is the last holdover against Global governance... When America goes global governence will happen.. URP is already on board.. as is China and Russia..

I know its a mystery to YOU how illegal and legal aliens in America serve that end.. but it/they does/do..

He threw that out there to shut the liberals and the media up.

I'm sure you realize that every time you throw that out (you do it all the time) you're calling him a liar? Sure you do.

MY LOUISIANA ELECTED OFFICIALS ARE TO BLAME, NOT BUSH!!!!

Of course they are ... once again, Bush took a major hit on Katrina because he was portrayed as being clueless by the liberal MSM. He set himself up for the hit needlessly.

One of Patton's famous quotes was "A commander must command".

GWB has lost command on many issues. A real leader would not give up on ANWR over a few liberal voices, no, the RINO's and him all backed down.

ANWR and domestic drilling after 9/11 should have been a top priority, not a slogan.

The President's remarks confirm a theory I have.

If the Republicans lose in November, they are not going to conclude that the base is sending them a message on illegal immigration.

They are going to blame it on Iraq and gas prices ... and maybe even a lack of Latino votes.

Actually, I've been trying to avoid these threads and don't know why I dropped into this one. I'm thinking these threads are similar to Iraq. The boss is drawing them them all together for a reason.:')

"Deepening concerns about the war, as well as the current standoff with Iran over its nuclear ambitions and high gas prices at home "have caused Americans to really take a look at the future and wonder whether or not it's as good as they want it to be. I understand that.""

Is it really possible that he's this far out of touch with whats going on with his base? If he is then the Repubs are in even worse trouble than I thought. Close the damned border! Now!

He lied only if you believe your mother lied to you when she told you she had to look under the bed to make sure there were no spooks there.

Bush has to treat the media, Bill O'Reilly, and Democrats like children.

And some Republicans, apparently.

"....low interest rates and tax cuts into the economy has not achieved the job and stock economy of Clinton."

Would you want the Clinton economy back? If so, you must be kidding yourself. I wouldn't want to go back to that house of cards.

You want him wringing his hands everytime there is a storm?

GEESH...Lord knows we get ENOUGH of that already. Every FREAKING T.V. station with a weatherdork breaks-in to local programming when there's a drop of rain...or the wind puffs.

We can have a storm 200 miles from here...and it's 4 hours of talking about wall clouds, wrapped this and that, hail the size of pea's/marbles/golfballs..etc..etc..We get lame pictures of dark clouds...( Yes, Virgina...rain storms have "dark clouds"..) And eyewitness accounts of what? RAIN!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sick of it!!!!

Thank-you, rant off
