Seeing that pic of Torricelli was like waving a flag in front of a bull. Just seeing it makes me see red. I really hate this guy. He is a big fat scumbag. He too, was involved in a little bit of an auto imbroglio in these parts. He backed out of a parking space, hit some poor old guy's car and then sped off. If I remember correctly, eyewitnesses report that his girlfriend (or ex-wife?), throught some front seat gymnastics, changed places with him in the driver's seat before leaving the scene. The police charged him but I think he ended up getting off, or the case got thrown out of court. The local paper is a lib rag that gave it minimal, buried coverage. All I know is that I really dislike this sleazemonger.
If you ever send him anything disagreeing with his position he sends a really snarky, snide reply. feh.

I've heard "Negroponte" whispered a few times... the same guy that SAT on the Saddam docs for over 2 years and had to be told several times by Bush to release them. I don't trust that guy... Whispers? BS!

The DCI was supposed to be the Intelligence Czar when the agency was created.

...he is out to allow the President to appoint someone who will be seen as the good cop after the bad, mean director that busted everyones butts. <<< I'd like to believe your little senario....and it would make sense except for: the suddeness of the announcement, the fact no replacement was named, rumor of a Negroponte/Goss clash, and Bush appearing at Goss's side in apparent endorsement.
Its all very confusing - but I fear the answers are not good for the country, the conservatives and George Bush's administration.

Negroponte and the docs bottleneck... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1594192/postsI've seen that thread. Read my comments on it.
Negroponte is one of the all time good guys.

Yes it appears so. Negroponte was not chafing at the bit to release the documents. That said, not much has YET come of them since their release right?
On the whole Goss' resignation is not a good thing. Except that maybe Negroponte's background as a get things done type of guy may increase the momentum for reform at the CIA and in general US intel. This, coming on the heels of the Cheney ambush of the Russians in Vilnius yesterday seems somehow...coordinated?

No pun to the good people of New Jersey, because I'm sure their are many great Americans living there. But, that state has been overrun with Democrat "sleazemongers." Torricelli is one of many.
You can bet he was rewarded for his transgressions. Torricelli is still an active player in the DNC, and still practicing law. Some species of cockroaches are very difficult to exterminate.

Negroponte is hated by the left. I suspect some of the misinformation directed against him originates from the left.

How do you KNOW that Negroponte is a good guy???? I am leary of him.....don't know why tho.

Question
Wasn't Negroponte the one that didn't think releasing the Iraq document was important
and that Bush over rid that and had them released??
