When you don't have the MSM marketing the movie for you like F911, I suppose you can't pull in the big bucks.

I don't know. Is that good or bad for a film like that? I'm thinking it's pretty good. I'm going Monday. I'm making a mall run, and I'm going to spend as much money as possible. You know, buying the things Mexicans won't buy.

Italics? See, that's what I get for cursing auto-preview and hitting post.

I would think it's pretty good. The film didn't get huge advertising, it has no stars, and on top of that, it was a limited release. That is, it didn't open in a lot of smaller places, and people had to drive to their nearest big city. I know I did.

You shouldn't have said anything. I thought you were just emphasizing your plans.

F911 satisfied a need for liberals/leftists to fault the Bush admin with the terrorist attacks. They were hungry and it fed the hunger (and validated their worldview). This was butressed by some short-sighted and media clumsy conservatives whose behavior helped publicize the movie as 'the movie republicans don't want you to see.'

The result was the most successful 'documentary' ever made and a huge hit.

United 93 has no such dynamic and in many respects is a movie that recounts an event that a lot of people have no interest in reliving.

Number 1 is $4.5 million in 3639 theaters.

Number 2 is $4 million in 2038 theaters.

Number 3 is $3.5 million in 1795 theaters.

Looks like a very nice opening to me.

Not a fair comparison. This film has received near-saturation coverage in the media, but the subject matter is very, very heavy.

F9/11 appealed to liberals in an overheated political climate. This film should be seen my many, but appeals to few.

Plus it was very cheap to make. Only 15 million. So it made 3.5 of that back in one day.

Go see the movie this week, 10% of profits go to charity, and its a great movie.

In order to make a massive selling movie about the War on Terror you have to make the 911 attacks just one part of it.

I think people saw Flight 93 as too much of a documentary, when what the US public wants is a much better done version of Pearl Harbor, where you deal with the lead up to war, the attack, and the response and do it from the eyes of people the audience gets to know.

F911 is an insult to adult intelligence. Pure propaganda. Only Bowling for C was worse. He can't even call it a documentary any more, and for good reason.

I'd love to see a F911 of Pearl Harbor.

I was talking it up last night while waiting to be seated at the bar. I think I got one lady to go see it.

F911 most importantly had controvery and that fed its coffers. You want to make a movie that makes as much as F911, make it a pro-War movie that shows democrats and the media conspiring to cause America to lose the War on Terror.
