I don't know. Is that good or bad for a film like that? I'm thinking it's pretty good. I'm going Monday. I'm making a mall run, and I'm going to spend as much money as possible. You know, buying the things Mexicans won't buy.

Italics? See, that's what I get for cursing auto-preview and hitting post.

Well, let's see. Farenheit 911 made $23m in its first box office weekend. United 93 has made $3.6 millon in its first day. United 93 would have to make about 7 million on its first day to meet the F911 standard.

So it's doing about half what F-911 did, but remember, it's not yet in wide release yet, and it's known as a film that will be difficult to watch. Say what you want about Moore, he IS entertaining.

United 93 cost $15m to make and I don't think there's been much advertising. So in the end I expect United 93 to give its filmmakers and investors a good but not spectacular return on their investment.

Don't fool youselves, though, about the MSM. This film's gotten plenty of coverage. Anyone with even the slightest interest in the film and its subject matter knows it's out there.

At the same time, they did say it would be hard to watch, and that might not be good for box office. However, I've seen the trailer, both in the theater and on QuickTime, and it's obvious the reviewers are right, and this is powerful, harrowing stuff. The MSM can't be blamed, in other words, for being honest about the film.
