Public approval of President George W. Bush continues to decline. Today, for the third time in two weeks, the President's Job Approval Rating has fallen to the lowest level ever measured by Rasmussen Reports.
Just 37% of Americans now give the President their Approval, only 16% Strongly Approve. Even among Republicans, approval has tumbled and is currently measured at 66%. For most of his first term, Bush earned Approval Ratings in the high 80s from Republicans.
At the other end of the spectrum, 62% Disapprove including 45% who Strongly Disapprove. Those figures are also the bleakest for President Bush ever recorded by Rasmussen Reports.

Yep. We reward our allies, especially when we have asked for something from them. I had no problem with the ports deal and I have no problem with this. I am glad it happened.
The President said there are many battles in this war and that we had many tools. We would see and hear of some, and there are some we would never know about.
This was a case study.
Were DOOMED, DOOMED the Stone Age Press Says so it must be true! Who cares about polls, let me know when people that don't watch politics care.
Pray for W and Our Freedom Fighters
I think you nailed it. Under all the hoopla and hysteria is one little fact. We like the guy, we're rooting for him...and he takes care of business that needs to be done without one whiff of concern for his approval polls.
In the end, he can look himself in the mirror and sleep soundly at night.
For what its worth...I have been polled numerous times in my life and 3 times in the last 6 months by Harris, Rasmussen, and Zogby. All polls asked my opinion about the President, Congress, Senate, the War in Iraq and on terror, gas prices etc...usually takes about 15 mins.
I would think that some business that needs to be done is securing the border and sending the illegals packing. Just what do you think he's done in this area?
This is so depressing. This immigration crap is killing the GOP. They need to take a stand NOW! Secure the borders and don't give amnesty! All those illegals protesting and DEMANDING for THEIR rights is ridiculous beyond words. They break our laws for coming here illegally, then whine about their "civil rights". Our lawmakers are stupid if they give in to them. They need to be rounded up and sent back where they came from imho. They can't vote,so why are they being treated like they are American citizens? It doesn't make any sense. Did you know they get free health care and all other perks at OUR TAX PAYING expense? It's outrageous.
David Gergen said on CNN 3 nights ago that if Bush and his "new vision team" doesn't get their act together by the middle of July and his numbers don't get back into the mid-40s...he will stand with Jimmy Carter as having a failed presidency regardless of the economy.
Gergen said Bush should be out touting the economy every single day in some shape or form whether its through people in his administration or himself and that he should think about adopting an address to the nation every other month in primetime to give updates on the war, the economy, and where things are headed...that 11:30 est press conferences are for soundbytes and nothing else.
It was leaked just a few days ago Rove is not a target of the investigation.
Disconnected? Girl, you are pushing it...

"Speech giver" sounds pretty stupid to me.
Amen.
I support the President's plan as a step in the right direction.
Unfortunately, perfect is the enemy of progressand there are too many who will settle for nothing less than mass deportation and armed guards every five feet next to a 70' high and three mile wide concrete border structure. If that is not the President's plan, well, then he has done nothing at all to offer us, which is a huge and utterly astonishing lie.
To blame this President for where things stand right at the moment, is to be completely and utterly disingenuous, ignorant of history and the realities of American politics (not to mention his own stated position) and a big fat wet kiss on the lips of liberals.
When you choose all or nothing in this world, you will always, ALWAYS, get nothing.
How so?
I was within about 30' of him in 2001. I felt and observed those things that you speak of. He made eye contact with me, seemed to give me a look of comfort and understanding. He gave a solemn and respectful nod. I knew that he could see the tears in my eyes and that he really cared.
This experience was outside the Capital building during a national memorial for fallen Law enforcement officers. I had lost one of my guys in the line of duty. A meth freak used a shotgun to blow his brain out.
Our country certainly has it's problems but, in so many ways, we have been blessed to have President Bush at the helm.
Your screen name is very appropriate.
But you did pick an appropriate screen name.

He should daily come out talking about how the Democrat blocking of oil drilling and refining has been leading us to the Democrat goal of $5 gas in the USA.
History backs us up.
Great minds..sangoo!
