Dick Morris: Dem Congress Could Make Hillary Prez
Newsmax ^ | April 28, 2006 | Dick Morris

Posted on 04/28/2006 7:59:39 AM PDT by Fruit of the Spirit

If Democrats win back the Congress in the 2006 midterm elections, they could make President Bush's last two years in office so miserable it would be impossible for any Republican to win the 2008 presidential election - thus ensuring that Hillary Clinton becomes president.

So says Dick Morris, the only political strategist to engineer a successful presidential reelection campaign for Democrats since the days of FDR.

If the GOP doesn't reconnect with the American people on key issues like border enforcement, "they will lose the House and they will lose the Senate," Morris told ABC Radio's Sean Hannity on Thursday.

He warns: "The Democrats will use that control to so harass Bush, with investigations, censures, subpoenas and maybe even impeachment, you may find that in 2008 the Republican Party doesn't have a chance."

With Mrs. Clinton using her fundraising juggernaut to sew up the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination, Morris' prediction means that the former first lady would become president by default. The former Clinton strategist says Capitol Hill Republicans have one last chance to save themselves and rescue the nation from a 2008 presidential debacle.

"The next hundred days when those guys are in session is their last opportunity to control the elections of '06 and '08," said Morris

And regarding the WOT, yes he has done well overseas but here at home has left the border wide open for terrorists to waltz in....and worse...he has no intention of genuinely securing the borders..ever!

I hate to point this out, but outside of the Mystery Anthrax Project and after 911, how many terrorist attacks on American soil have we seen since he becamen President?

If the democrats take the house and senate, and they DON'T impeach the president, I can't imagine their base electing one of them to be president.

The base is looking for a majority so they can impeach Bush. The anger the conservatives have for our republicans would pale in comparison to the anger if a majority-democrat house failed to impeach Bush.

morris is an idiot.

If the dems do win and they start in with the harrassing of Bush... it'll be their downfall in 08... if there is one thing the sheeple of this nation are sick of, it's the political fights, smears, etc...

Regarding the PEW poll"

"according to the Pew Hispanic Center analysis of multiple datasets collected by the Census Bureau and other government agencies"

That's a laugher...how does the Census Bureau, or anybody for that matter, accurately keep track of illegals...Its a WAG at best and subject to a huge error. The PEW is a pugh.

Regarding no terrorism here since 911, true and congrats to Bush for that....does that mean we should leave our borders wide open and invite another attack? Of course not!

Giving amnesty is an enourmous mistake for a multitude of reasons not the least of which is complete lack of respect for law that it encourages, not to mention strongly encouraging more illegal immigaration.

And regarding referring to those who oppose Bush on this issue as "Nellies", that just shows how weak your arguments are. The first refuge of the illogical is the ad hominem attack.

BTW....I supported Bush on the Dubai deal.

I think it really had something to do with ED mumbly Joe Bawb Dole!

The only memorable thing we heard outta his mouth was his parrot like incessant repeating of his own name!

Now if it had been a contest between Bob and Algae, then I would give Dick his just due credit!

Your right. But if you think the past will hold up, better get ready. It is what in on the board for the future that will get support for the GOP. Maybe you are blind to what the MSM and the RAT party keep throwing. Quit living in past and take a good look at what the President and the Party will be doing tomorrow. We all agree what our Party and the Administration has been able to do is fantastic but past accomplishments is not good enough. Keep it going.

No, I'd rather have a president who gives away our sovereignty in order to pander to illegal voters and the corrupt businesses that hire them.

She hasn't even declared her candidacy yet, and you have her elected already. If I were you, I'd learn to speak spanish before rushing off to elect Hilliary.

He wants to give amnesty to 12 million illegal aliens

No he wants to deport the latest arrivals and give the rest a chance to EARN amnesty. Also securing borders means more than a bigger fence with Mexico. Remember all those Cubans washing ashore in Florida.

Yeah, you're right--seeing "illegals by the truckload" is a far more accurate indicator.

Regarding no terrorism here since 911, true and congrats to Bush for that....does that mean we should leave our borders wide open and invite another attack? Of course not!

No. When did I say that?

And regarding referring to those who oppose Bush on this issue as "Nellies", that just shows how weak your arguments are. The first refuge of the illogical is the ad hominem attack.

Kinda like "The PEW is a pugh," or insinuating I am for leaving our borders open. You've not posted a single fact, merely assertions, so your calling me illogical is, to put it bluntly, laughable.

The problem the Send A Message people never seem to grasp is that just because they do their part in the message sending--tossing the Republicans out as punishment--the rest of the country doesn't go along with the plan. So the Republicans will get tossed out, and the message they receive is muddied--were they tossed out for being TOO conservative? not enough? And oh, now that they've learned their lesson, is the rest of the country going to think "OK, you've got it now, we'll throw the Democrats out next time"?

I'd be out there kicking out R's left and right if I thought the process would work and next time they'd come back closer to my view of immigration, but it just doesn't work that way; life has a habit of not going according to one voter's plan.
