NEW YORK — More Americans disapprove than approve of how George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and Congress are doing their jobs, while a majority approves of Condoleezza Rice. President Bush’s approval hits a record low of 33 percent this week, clearly damaged by sinking support among Republicans.
Opinions are sharply divided on whether Rumsfeld should resign as secretary of defense. In addition, views on the economy are glum; most Americans rate the current economy negatively, and twice as many say it feels like the economy is getting worse rather than better. These are just some of the findings of the latest FOX News national poll.
President Bush’s job approval rating slipped this week and stands at a new low of 33 percent approve, down from 36 percent two weeks ago and 39 percent in mid-March. A year ago this time, 47 percent approved and two years ago 50 percent approved (April 2004).

In a similar vein, I ask myself what business Rumsfeld has pontificating on the political situation in Iraq, when his responsibility is to ensure the United States has a capable military force to defend her.

They're no different than the knee jerk American public that demands blue skies and green lights as far as the eye can see and won't weather the storms that come upon our nation without turning on a hard working president who has tried to make it all better, and fixed a hell of a lot of the nation's worst problems that fell upon him when taking office, i.e. national security a wreck, the economy failing, etc. Like you say, these people deserve President Hillary and a Pelosi-controlled congress. Some extreme posters think by allowing the RATS to have full control of everything will cause regular folks to rise up and revolt against liberalism. Thus paving the way for Ann COulter and Michael Savage fans assume power.
Apparently he also believes that lack of a secure border is what's best for our nation, at least judging by his actions instead of his rhetoric. Why else wouldn't he be pushing for border security first as a way of building people's confidence that his "path to citizenship" won't turn out to be another fiasco like the '86 amnesty?

If he got the guest worker program he's looking for the border could be tightened. Then we could make sure that those coming in to work aren't criminals or terrorists.
Look, I'm not completely defending W. I'm just pointing out that he sticks to his beliefs, even when it angers many in his own party.
