04/20/06 FOX Poll: Gloomy Economic Views; Bush Approval at New Low

NEW YORK — More Americans disapprove than approve of how George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and Congress are doing their jobs, while a majority approves of Condoleezza Rice. President Bush’s approval hits a record low of 33 percent this week, clearly damaged by sinking support among Republicans.

Opinions are sharply divided on whether Rumsfeld should resign as secretary of defense. In addition, views on the economy are glum; most Americans rate the current economy negatively, and twice as many say it feels like the economy is getting worse rather than better. These are just some of the findings of the latest FOX News national poll.

President Bush’s job approval rating slipped this week and stands at a new low of 33 percent approve, down from 36 percent two weeks ago and 39 percent in mid-March. A year ago this time, 47 percent approved and two years ago 50 percent approved (April 2004).

It isn't your political interests, it is your approach. Biting of your nose to spite your face solves nothing. FR has and agenda which is clearly specified by the founder. We can and should abide by these guidelines when posting. I'm sure you are smart enough to understand this and post accordingly.

Too many Trolls come here and post things to try and demoralize us. We can have differences with the administration without providing aid and comfort to the Democrats.

Fox was the one ignoring the obvious.

You have to understand, these guys are under pressure from their wives. The ole lady likes her house slaves and will make life hard for hubby if she loses her maid and nanny. I don't picture Fred Barnes cutting his own grass, do you?

Wow. That's some serious investment advice. :)

Do we have a "investment opinions" mailing list around here one could subscribe to ?

I'm not so sure it's irrational exuberance, by the way. While I acknowlege energy costs are going to start to bite (especially with the oil at $75), the economy's solid, Fed's done raising, and there's a *lot* of cash on the sidelines.

I, personally, don't care one way or the other. I'm an options trader and manage my portfolio like a hedge fund. Market go up, market do down... no problem. Make money either way.

No immigration mention. Fox is in the liberal tank too.

Inflation isn't near 4%. Real inflation (which as an accountant and economist I can say doesn't actually exist with all the possible variables and decisions an individual makes) is closer to 1.8-2%.

But inflation isn't universal either. Not "everything" goes up by that percentage. It's a grab bag of items chosen by the government. Not very reliable.

Real inflation (which as an accountant and economist I can say doesn't actually exist with all the possible variables and decisions an individual makes)

What do you mean by this parenthetical statement? If the government prints enough money to double the available supply and it's brought into circulation, is the resultant inflation "real" or not?
