04/20/06 FOX Poll: Gloomy Economic Views; Bush Approval at New Low

NEW YORK More Americans disapprove than approve of how George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and Congress are doing their jobs, while a majority approves of Condoleezza Rice. President Bushs approval hits a record low of 33 percent this week, clearly damaged by sinking support among Republicans.
Opinions are sharply divided on whether Rumsfeld should resign as secretary of defense. In addition, views on the economy are glum; most Americans rate the current economy negatively, and twice as many say it feels like the economy is getting worse rather than better. These are just some of the findings of the latest FOX News national poll.
President Bushs job approval rating slipped this week and stands at a new low of 33 percent approve, down from 36 percent two weeks ago and 39 percent in mid-March. A year ago this time, 47 percent approved and two years ago 50 percent approved (April 2004).

Moving freely across borders means having borders, enforceable borders. If the influx was as bad then as it is now, I have no doubt Reagan would have had no problem with a defensive wall through which secure and robust free passage could take place among the countries JMO, I don't think Reagan would have put up a Berlin type of wall, and he proved it with his Berlin Wall speech in 1987, a year after signing total amnesty for illegal aliens.

( anyone who believes hillary would do something to stop illegal immigration is believing gibberish)

But it's not a Berlin-type of wall. Reagan would have had no problem with the wall the Israelis are building. This proposed wall is no different.

Fortunately or unfortunately stating that gas prices are comparable to the 1970's (adjusted for inflation) does not sit well with the American public. With regards to property taxes it's all where you live and a 5% raise is good, but when inflation is at 4% your real raise is 1%.
Universal logic is never wrong. ;)

Exactly. Reminds me of the joke of a company's "Open Door" policy. Employees are encouraged to ask questions about how to improve things, but instead of getting answers management only corrects the employee's misconceptions.
Fast forward today.
American Public: Gas prices are too high.
Administration Response: Actually they're lower than the 1970's when adjusted for inflation.
American Public: My property taxes are skyrocketing
Administration Response: That's why we need to make the tax cut permanent.
American Public: My wages are stagnating
Administration Response: We need a guest worker program.

Sorry, I agree with Bush. We should not secure our borders. There are companies that need the cheap labor in order to survive..

Polling - The art of creating self fulfilling prophecies based on selective data and political bias favorable to the opinion of the pollster and desired use of the poll.
If I had a nickle for every "Lowest Poll Numbers Ever" MSM propaganda BS poll they produced, I'd be a rich man.

Read your post and I believe it. It's a weird story ...but not isolated.Yeah, I realize it's an anecdote and I'm an anonymous person on the internet but it's the honest truth.
Here in Chicago they are opening a new Wal-Mart in a admittedly bad neighborhood.
They got 25,000 applications.
Yep, I read about it here.
Yet we're supposedly in the midst of a labor shortage.

"Anyone see Dow go up almost 300pts this week ? In spite of high oil prices ? Hellooo ?" Irrational exuberance. The market is due for a huge correction very shortly and fuel costs will be the millstone around its neck. I think it will drop back below 10K. Maybe bottom around 9800. Possibly lower.
You heard it here first. Sell now!

Hilarious, the sheeple like Condi because she is rarely in the news, and the MSM guns have not smeared her in 6 months.
LOL, if the MSM did a week long story of sad cases of patients w/o health ins, the #1 CRISIS in American would be polled at......surprise!
Health Care!

But it's not a Berlin-type of wall. Reagan would have had no problem with the wall the Israelis are building. This proposed wall is no different. As suggested in the movie "Field of Dreams", "if we build it they will come" ............. if we build the wall, they won't come (illegally).

...if a Fox poll has him at 33%,Fox does not necessarily mean 'fair'.
If you analyze closely, all Fox really does is REPEAT the doom and gloom news put forth by the lamestream media, and then they put somebody on a little more balanced on to state a middle of the road opinion.
In the end, all they are doing is perpetuating the doom and gloom news, while adding a little caveat as if to say, 'well not everybody believes that.'

No, this is your agenda "Bush is on the political equivalent of life support"
You wouldn't be the first troll to use the same tactics I see in your posts. It's only a matter of time before you get the boot.

'He's not up for reelection again'...yup, and if he continues to ignore his base and the Dems take the House in November his last two years will be like the seventh circle in Hell...nothing but subpoenas and high decibel inquisitions leading to a revenge impeachment.
