NEW YORK More Americans disapprove than approve of how George W. Bush, Donald Rumsfeld and Congress are doing their jobs, while a majority approves of Condoleezza Rice. President Bushs approval hits a record low of 33 percent this week, clearly damaged by sinking support among Republicans.
Opinions are sharply divided on whether Rumsfeld should resign as secretary of defense. In addition, views on the economy are glum; most Americans rate the current economy negatively, and twice as many say it feels like the economy is getting worse rather than better. These are just some of the findings of the latest FOX News national poll.
President Bushs job approval rating slipped this week and stands at a new low of 33 percent approve, down from 36 percent two weeks ago and 39 percent in mid-March. A year ago this time, 47 percent approved and two years ago 50 percent approved (April 2004).

You tell me, seems like you have much experience in such things.
Though I don't suspect you get out much, you should try peddling your nonsense that border control = Stalinism or Nazism in places that have suffered from both. Seriously, take your little act to some place like Warsaw or Budapest. You'll be dismissed as a loon.
Microeconomies do (nonetheless) reflect the broader trends captured by larger scale metrics. They typically exhibit higher standard deviation (due to localized influences), but the fact is that if the economy as a whole offers falling unemployment and rising wages, it is more likely than not that both John in Minnesota and Tammy in Florida will benefit. One may certainly lose their job due to outsourcing or downsizing, but it is far better for that to occur in a growing economy than in a shrinking one.
"Is it worth the price?"
Honestly, I don't know.
It's clear W thinks it is. Or maybe he thinks the rewards will outweigh the costs far more quickly than anyone thinks.
If paying an extra dollar for a carrot means Americans hands will pick it count me in. However you do bring up another point, communicable diseases. None of these illegals are checked for hepatitis, TB or Ebola yet they work in our restaurants preparing our food. Another reason their employers should be jailed or put out of business.
It doesn't matter how well the stock market does or how low unemployment goes. Most people judge the state of the economy by their own personal household budget which is being hit hard by rising gas prices.
The sombrero does not fall far from the hatter.
Uh fewt daggy there, you do remember this don't you,
Uh the above is a "sharpshooter's nest" on the East German border, your heroes.
Hmm President Ronald Reagan didn't say "Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" for nothing.
I agree with you 100% on that point. The man, for his faults, is right about the war on Islamofascism (although I wish he or anyone else would dispense with the political niceties and just call it that). All else is secondary. Without our lives and our freedom, economic policy arguments are utterly moot. The scary part is that the Dems are so insanely intent on tearing him down to regain power that they would put us all at risk in the process.
IT IS ALL ABOUT GAS PRICES, NOTHING BUT GAS PRICES, AND THAT IS WHAT EVERYTHING IS BASED ON RIGHT NOW. NOTHING ELSE BUT GAS PRICES.
All true, and insofar as your post goes, we are in violent agreement.
My point is that individuals' perceptions are typically formed by the microeconomy in which they exist and function. Which, as you point out, may exhibit higher levels of deviation from the norm than does the overall economy. And thus, the disconnect between some people's perception, and the reality of the macroeconomy.
It doesn't But it gives the Demons a bat to beat up the prez with. Hate to say it but Rummy should step down to help GW. Then I would put one of the big crtics of his in their to see how they would handle it. Because it doesn't matter who GW nominates the demons are going to be critical. I'd like to see W Clark (he is such a know it all) in the spot just to show how incompetence breeds contempt. The demons strategy from the get go has been to criticize everything this administration does no matter how good for the country it may be. They are certainly a group that willing put their politics ahead of the welfare and security of our country. Sorry just have rant a little.
Have a thing or two to say about oil but it just raises the blood pressure too much.
Uh you do know that the resurgence of TB in America was due to the AIDS crisis brought about by homosexual activists.
As for Ebola, can you show me where one case that is not from Africa.
This REPUBLICAN will ALWAYS vote for the conservative party. I hope Hillary will never WIN and I don't think she ever will.
W.... I STILL LOVE YA, I have not jumped ship now in the past nor in the future. I know your heart, your head and I know you.
typical whorn!
The borders is another thing altogether and for that the administration could, but won't, do something.
Very true.
"Hate to say it but Rummy should step down to help GW. Then I would put one of the big crtics of his in their to see how they would handle it"
Are you seriously suggesting that we put the fate of the military in the hands of a Bush critic just to prove some kind of point?
I think I've ridden this bus far enough.
