NOTICE: Secure Our Borders Rally Moved to Monday, April 24, See Update at Post 100

If you really care, be there!

The National Mall at 7th Street, 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2006.

SECURE OUR BORDERS, NO AMNESTY, ENFORCE OUR IMMIGRATION AND EMPLOYMENT LAWS.

Across the country, Americans have watched in outrage as illegal aliens and their enablers have taken to OUR streets demanding their lack of respect for our laws and sovereignty be rewarded with guest worker amnesty and citizenship. Make no mistake, there was no "please" accompanying these demands--there was a menacing "or else" in the air that has left supporters of secure borders and enforcement of our immigration and employment laws virtually paralyzed by indecision on how to respond.

I personally observed the April 10 pro-illegal alien rally in Washington, D.C. I noted the presence of American flags, I noted the children used as props wearing "I am not a criminal" t-shirts. And I noted that the speeches were conducted almost entirely in Spanish without English translation.

The refusal of the organizers of the rally to conduct their rally in English, or to provide Spanish-to-English translation, was a big middle finger to America. This was not a 'we want to be Americans' rally, this was a 'we're here, more of us are coming and to hell with you and your laws if you try to do anything about it' rally.

And why shouldn't they have that attitude. They are constantly told by President Bush that they are doing the jobs American refuse to do. Our politicians tell them they are needed because Americans are too lazy to do hard work, too spoiled to mow their own lawns, clean their own homes and raise their own children. Sen. John McCain not only tells Americans he knows they wouldn't do farm work for $50 an hour, but that we can't do farm work for any wage--"You just can't do it, my friends."

The Democratic party leadership has no desire to secure our borders. Sen. Kennedy and Minority Leader Harry Reid care more about raw political power than they do about the national security of the United States and the well-being of American workers.

Greedy, corrupt business interests have formed an unholy alliance with radical leftists to pressure Congress to ignore the expressed will of the American people to secure our borders and enforce our immigration and employment laws. They are counting on us to be as lazy as they say we are as they work to dissolve America's national sovereignty.

When the first major pro-illegal alien marches were held, the true nature of that movement was on display for all to see. The predominance of flags of foreign nations accompanied by the desecration of the American flag sent an all too honest message that had to be quickly covered up and explained away.

Purposely lost in the debate by pro-illegal alien activists and politicians is the absolutely disastrous state of our open borders and the vulnerability to our national security that presents. Thanks to the promotion of amnesty, hundreds of thousands of illegal border crossings occur every month. Border Patrol is overwhelmed and understaffed. More than four years after September 11, our government is betting that they can snag the handful of terrorist infiltrators necessary to carry out devastating attacks among the millions of people who pour over our borders every year. It's a bet they've won so far, but as we are reminded by the government, the terrorists only have to be lucky once.

Illegal aliens are for the most part people in search of a better life--they're just contemptuous of our laws and sovereignty. Yes, most of them work hard, but all of them are in violation of our laws and most of them help propagate international criminal cartels by paying smugglers to bring them into our country.

Illegal alien smuggling has turned large areas of our southern border into no-go zones for American citizens. Americans living and working in border communities live in daily fear for their lives and property because the hordes of illegal aliens and the criminal cartels have wrested operational control of our borders from the federal government.

Meanwhile millions more around the world who respect our laws and sovereignty patiently wait for our cumbersome bureaucracy to process their applications for legal residency. They and the millions who have legally immigrated to our country are being played for chumps by the pro-illegal alien forces.

Emboldened by the success of their recent marches, pro-illegal alien forces are upping the ante by calling for strikes and boycotts on May First by illegal aliens and their supporters. The call for a boycott is being supported in Mexico where American businesses there would be shunned.

The pro-illegal alien forces are counting on you to be intimidated by their large numbers and perception of power. I am not intimidated. I will be planting my American flag and making my stand for secure borders, no amnesty and enforcement of our immigration and employment laws next Sunday, April 23rd, at 2 p.m. on the National Mall at 7th Street in Washington, D.C. (near the Smithsonian museums.)

The D.C. Chapter is joining me in this effort, as is Bill Greene of Right March. Other than a few FReepers who chimed in on the previous thread I posted about this, it looks like it'll be a small, but passionate turnout. How small or how large is up to you. The Park Service has granted me a permit that can handle a crowd.

If you would like to help, please go to the D.C. Chapter website. The rally will be done on the cheap, but we still need help putting it on.

If you'd like to spread the word about the rally to your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers, you can send them this announcment unedited or send them a link to the rally website Bill Greene was kind enough to create: SecureBorders.net.

Please bear in mind that this is a pro-America and pro-legal immigration rally. Nor is it a trash President Bush rally. However, he has not done nearly enough to secure our borders and needs to hear from us.

As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no racism, no profanity, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

Also, as the permit holder I will have final say over any signs or banners brought to the rally.

Just caught very brief coverage of a rally today in DC. Sad to say it was so non-specific that I couldn't be sure if it was pro or anti-amnesty.

Report?

Believe it or not, we were there. Unfortunately, we arrived a bit after 11:00, just in time to see people breaking down tables in the park. We were so disappointed. (We live in Kent County now, and Bridge traffic slowed us down. Plus the husband broke his hip in December, so he is not up to his usual stride yet. The walking that we did just to get from the parking lot to the Metro and from the Metro stop to the park really took a lot out of him.) Oh, well, we enjoyed a pleasant half-hour or so on a park bench.
