Interesting. She is apparently an emotionally disturbed person, as is clear from the article, a consequence of the death of her father and the evident depression of her mother. Her political activities are an outlet for obsessive-compulsive behavior. That accounts for the blogging. But there is something else going on.

The rage that brings satisfaction is something else. Rage evokes applause, and she seems to live for that. There is an echo-chamber effect here where disturbed people are feeding and amplifying each others rage because it brings them psychic rewards to do so. It is all about their feelings, and to keep the feelings going they are going more and more off the deep end.

This is not about objective analyses of cost-benefit, or anything on which common ground can be found.
There is literally no reasoning with people like this.

Spot-on.

What this woman and many other truly unhinged bush-haters are going to experience is a very strong letdown come January 2009. Just like when the Vietnam War ended and the neo-left lost their biggest magnet for recruitment so it will be when W leaves office.

Granted this is a different war that will go on for a very long time and in some aspects will go on forever on a much smaller, tactical scale. Yet when their main target, the selected-not-elected President is gone, no matter who wins the Presidency, the neo-libs will quickly find less future willing recruits which will make them even more infuriated, adding to their irrationality.

Thereafter their actions will turn more towards terroristic tactics which will repel recruits and the public-at-large even more.

The best thing for the left would be for W to be President for 8 more years.

"Powerlessness" is O'Connor's explanation. "This is born of powerlessness..."

She obviously has an impoverished ego...

There is literally no reasoning with people like this.

She apparently assumed permanent victim status early on, and never let go. A wasted, twisted life of helpless rage. It has nothing to do with politics or war -- it's all about her.

Interesting analysis. Perhaps this is the difference in personality of an individualist and a marxist/socialist. The individualist looks inward to know what is right. The socialist turns to the group. Socialists are 'confirmed' in their beliefs by what the group 'thinks'.

.....But there is something else going on.....

You didn't mention her son. He is in real trouble.

When he deserts her like Casey Sheehan did, she will slit her wrists.

Limbaugh has observed that, increasingly, "emotional satisfaction" has become a substitute for "victory" on the left.

I believe that is what you are describing...and what is going on in Maryscott's disturbed psyche.

Yeah. I wonder if the "non" in the phrase "non-alcoholic beer" was added by the journalist.

Wouldn't be prudent to be seen drinking a beer first thing in the morning.

Come to think of it, it wouldn't seem prudent to be seen drinking a non-alcoholic beer first thing in the morning either...

Rage evokes applause, and she seems to live for that.

Her and Cindy Sheehan.

The Code Pink, MFSO, VFP crowd has a cultlike hold on her, constantly parading Cindy before groups that demand to see the "Angry Mom" curse out Bush. The cruel reality of this is that the Code Pink, MFSO, VFP crowd has stopped Cindy from properly grieving. She's held prisoner in the anger stage of grief by the Code Pink, MFSO, VFP crowd.

Applause is the reward for Cindy as long as she performs as directed. Some of the more wacko things she has said are perhaps not really her own beliefs, but lines she knows will earn applause. The beliefs of the Code Pink, MFSO, VFP crowd.

Recently, Cindy has broken out of it a little, distancing herself from Code Pink's inappropriate, strike that, vulgar protest at Walter Reed Army Hospital on Friday nights.

This isn't a recent observation either. I had two women, nurses to qualify for mental health cases both express their concern for her welfare last summer.

One was a organizer of the counter-Cindy rally and one had a child in Iraq. Both were decent enough that though they see Cindy's behavior as threatening to our troops welfare, they were decent enough to care about wher welfare.

But saw that she was kept from moving on to the next stage in grieving Casey's death. Both feared, as I do, what would happen if the Code Pink, MFSO, VFP crowd dropped her when and if she became a liability to their cause.

'Drama queen'

Don't give this type of person a drama reward, ignore them.

Get a job lady - be part of the solution not the problem.

When you're crying, you can't be workin'...
