Herman Cain, the former U.S. senate candidate and the former CEO of Godfathers Pizza, has been diagnosed with colon cancer, a spokeswoman for Cain said this morning.
The guys a fighter and hes going to be fine, said Ericka Pertierra, his chief of staff. Hes trying to figure out how to do the radio show from the bed.
Cain, 60, learned of the diagnosis a couple weeks ago and is scheduled for surgery later this month at a hospital in Houston, she said.
Cain was one of three Republican candidates in the 2004 race for U.S. Senate. The Henry County resident came in second with 26 percent of the vote, behind U.S. Rep. Johnny Isakson but ahead of U.S. Rep. Mac Collins.
Best wishes to a great American.
It's a tragedy. All people of good will, regardless of their political leanings, should wish Cain a full and speedy recovery.
Oh, no. :-(
Prayers for Mr. Cain's full and speedy recovery.
This is horrible news. I hope they get it all in his surgery. This guy is top notch, and I wish him the best.
Prayers for his complete recovery. He's a fighter so I have no doubt he'll beat this thing.
Bad news ping! :-(
AMEN!
Prayers for him from Michigan. We need him around for many years to come.
Prayers up for Herman Cain and his family!
He had just finished playing in the Pro-Am golf tournament and his team came in first. He looks great, his attitude is still tremendous, not a negative bone in his body.
He goes to Houston Monday (4-24-06) to begin his treatment which starts with completely new tests, looking at everything again, then a decision about surgery and chemo.
He said he would probably miss a couple of broadcasts of his talk show on WSB, but may actually begin his show again from his bedroom if possible.
No talk yet about which office he might run for next, but I keep pressuring him every chance I get.
I am a huge Cain fan. "They think you're stupid."
God bless him and give him strength.
