Once again the value of the Rush Limbaugh show has come through. A caller has just provided us with the rallying cry we need. We need to start calling this whole thing an effort at: GUEST VOTERS ACT.
This is short. This is easy to remember. This is destructive of the pro illegal alien benefits package in three little words. Let us repeat this phrase until it crashes into the arena.
You can call it Guest Voter Act as long as you don't call it Amnesty!
----It should be mentioned that caller was hispanicand he was pretty sharp too.
BTW repuublican leadership, he WASN'T for illegal immigration. Get it?----
Darn, wish I'd caught that!
He had a pretty heavy accent and sounded like an older fella. It was a good call.
I talked to a friend of mine yesterday that lives in San Diego. She said she had to turn off the tv because it made her want to throw up. I said....well did you call your Senators, Congressman, President and tell them that? She said no, why, they don't care.
1. She is right
2. I think she is typical
You keep "detecting" the wrong winds, friend. God, I would have hated to have you as a shipmate at Midway. "Oh, the Japs are going to kill us all!"
Dave, if this amnesty is passed, it will work like this: first thing up next year will be an increase in the minimum wage law, since, now, all these illegals are now "citizens" and will have to be "covered" by a "living wage." When the employers (who supported this crap) find they can't pay this, there will be a massive new surge of more illegals across the border until all Mexico is here.
Here's a better one: "No, no su puede!"
Woodja vote for: OUTSOURCE CONGRESS!
That is my wife's reaction as well. I still wrote to my Senators and Congresscritter. At least Cornyn and Hutchinson are on the right side of the issue.
"You keep "detecting" the wrong winds, friend."
My pessimism largely comes from statements made yesterday by my very conservative Congressman (Chip Pickering), who strongly opposes amnesty. He thinks the House will legalize the aliens, and I think he's in a position to know what he's talking about.
We'll see. My inclination would be to find a more determined congressman and make sure he knew I was backing him.
LMFAO - It is so stupid.
"My pessimism largely comes from statements made yesterday by my very conservative Congressman (Chip Pickering), who strongly opposes amnesty. He thinks the House will legalize the aliens, and I think he's in a position to know what he's talking about."
That is very strange. After all, Boehner just the other day poured cold water on any guest worker program, and the only person who might have had the inclination as well as the clout to do it it would have been Boehner.
Maybe Pickering got up on the wrong side of the bed.
while you're pondering that, check out my brand new book

As far as winds blowing:
You have got influential conservative people in the media who have run from this issue like the plague, like Limbaugh, who are now speaking out, and, so I hear, even (gasp) criticizing President Bush.
You have got people around the country getting irate over these demonstrations joining the immigration reform cause.
I wonder how many new activists numbersusa.com has signed up since these demonstrations began. A bunch, I would guess.
And you have got our side totally dominating the communication from the public to the members of Congress through phone calls, etc.
When Congress gets back to Washington, they won't have illegal aliens flooding them with phone calls and faxes, it will be us that will be doing that.
But I do sincerely hope that there aren't any pro-borders or undecided members of Congress that are such nitwits that they would consider illegal aliens demonstrating for amnesty being a reason to legislate amnesty.
That is the message of the demonstrations- illegal aliens want amnesty.
DUH.
