The Guest Voter Act: Now we have our rallying cry!
Rush Limbaugh Show WABC radio | April11,2006 | self

Posted on 04/11/2006 11:38:59 AM PDT by jmaroneps37

Once again the value of the Rush Limbaugh show has come through. A caller has just provided us with the rallying cry we need. We need to start calling this whole thing an effort at: GUEST VOTERS ACT.

This is short. This is easy to remember. This is destructive of the pro illegal alien benefits package in three little words. Let us repeat this phrase until it crashes into the arena.

I also heard that today and I was floored with laughter by its simplicity. Even the great El Rushbo was humbled by its brilliance.

Awesome!

Democrats will rush to the hustings with vast bombastic promises of "Free Stuff." The overall result though, is likely to prove disappointing. Like the once dreaded "student vote", the firmest believers in "Free Stuff" reject even the tiny chore of getting down to the polls and standing in line. What counts in the end is who actually turns out. And this is what the Republicans excel at.

They already did that yesterday.

We can make whatever slogans we want. But none of them will have the impact of million-illegal alien marches that the liberal media will splash all over the news. Hope I'm wrong but I seem to detect the wind blowing against us.

How can anyone avoided the brouhaha yesterday of illegal aliens marching in various cities across this country. I can't my mind from traveling to sinister places as far as the Democratic Party is concerned. Although I am not screaming and shouting in favor of a strict law and order solution by slapping all illegals with a felony charge, drastic measures need to be taken. First of all, I am not opposed to building a wall of some kind along the Mexican border to prevent a further influx of illegals. True, we all benefit in some way from the labor of these folks--some more than others. Now, I don't own a business or employ anyone (ie; a nanny or a gardner) Maybe the price I pay for certain food items or a meal at a restaurant is somewhat cheaper because the owner has hired illegal waiters, dishwashers, busboys etc. oh also farm workers as well (actually, these are the only situations I can think of where I benefit personally from the labor of illegal aliens)----but think of the other side of the coin.
Pedro comes from Mexico or elsewhere gets an unskilled job. Ok he's busting his hump for a pittance (some empathy here puhleeze). He's not adding anything to the tax base first of all. Pedro gets sick and goes to the emergency room for pretty much all his medical needs big and small and the government picks up the tab. Pedro's kids (if he has any) go to our public schools for nothing (and our hospitals too)--he isn't paying any taxes, nor contributing to social security. Pedro's kids unfortunately are glutting our public schools. Sometimes Pedro gets into trouble with the law (stress on sometimes)--we have enough of our own native criminals to deal with---do we realy need illegal aliens in jail too? can we think of any other things--puhleeze help!
So all in all, it might be better if I pay a bit more for a meal in a restaurant--or McDonald's, or a sandwhich at the local deli. Most people (even those like myself)---who don't hire anyone for anything--- think the hiring of illegals is a savings---but society (all of us) is paying for it up the wazoo in so many other ways.
I heard something from Mark Levin on WABC (NYC) that just starting a business in America is such a pain in the butt because of over regulation, that it forces many small businesses to hire illegal to cut costs that are paid in keeping in line with the dozens of regulations. Could it be possible that Congres would mind taking a look at this?
Could it ever come to pass that our youth could lead less leisurely lives and go out and work at some of these unskilled jobs for a year or two--(I can just imagine Muffy and Todd from Greenwich CT (or Tyrone or Shaniqua from Bed-Stuy for that matter) working in the kitchen of some restaurant)----really, I doubt this would ever happen.
Then comes the question of being able to integrate foreigners into the larger society. For the most part this happens naturally. I think there is a slight xenophobia in this area. The American born children of most of these foreigners--both legal and illegal are acculturated to American life.
But will Congress be able to come up with anything that really works---I doubt it---they don't have the cojones to take radical action. And I don't think slapping a felony charge on these folks is really imaginative---pretty reactionary.

They already did that yesterday.

They are so darn predictable. If I ever encounter a liberal with an original notion I think I'll fall over in a dead faint.

Hope I'm wrong but I seem to detect the wind blowing against us.

It's not a wind anymore, it's a hurricane.

As far as slogans go, you've got to be careful. The way things are now, the illegals themselves just might adopt this and the media would love it.

I'm taking another view on the events of the past two days. I believe that seeing those masses on the TV screen will finally get through the fog of apathy among the inattentive Joe-Six-Pack people. There they were right on his TV. A huge threat to his way of life in living color. He never realized there were THAT many illegals in HIS town. It may take a few days for it to sink in, but I think there is going to be a backlash (in spite of the American flags).

The caller, Jose, also pointed out that the 'crats are not jumping up in support of Cuban immigrants because they overwhelmingly vote Republican.
