Stunning facts about the proposed immigration bill

SENATOR SESSIONS ON SECURING AMERICA'S BORDERS ACT

Mr. President, I thank Senator Leahy, ranking member on the Judiciary Committee.

I have received just this afternoon in my office some disturbing news in the form of correspondence from the Congressional Budget Office. It suggests a number of areas where the amendment we are talking about here today, No. 3424, the immigration so-called compromise, violates our budget and the rules of the Senate.

Let me read from the correspondence we have received. This is something, as you know, Mr. President, as a member of the Judiciary Committee, that we never discussed at all. It is not a matter we spent any time at all discussing as we moved forward with legislation which ultimately cleared that committee and came to the floor — legislation which I thought was not good legislation and which I opposed, and so did the Senator from Texas, who just relinquished the Chair. We didn't discuss the financial impact of the legislation before us.

Stand Up For America !

"We have room for but one flag, the American flag...
We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...
And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Good one, SA! Especially this...

Scott James, a former Tucson Border Patrol agent, resigned after eight years of service, citing a lack of support by the Department of Homeland Security. He said, "U.S. Border Patrol officials provided office space inside their headquarters to Mexican consulate officials, allowed the consulate to dictate the agent's activities and gave the consulate information as to ongoing investigations."

And we would get the job done!

How does Obama-O'Brien 2008 sound?

{Just as bad as Hillary/Gorp}

Democratic Sen. Barack Obama has repeatedly said he doesn't plan to run for president in two years. Yet the freshman senator from Illinois says that if he did, he's already picked a late-night talk show host to appear on the ticket with him.

"I was thinking about you as my running mate," Obama quipped to the host of NBC's "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" on Friday, after being asked again if he plans to launch a presidential bid.

NOTE: Can anyone imagine a President Obama?!?

In today's Houston Chronicle on p. A22, there is a lengthy article, Bush immigration plan goes prime time. In the last 2 paragraphs it states:

Pointing to the counter-protesters, who were kept at a short distance by helmeted police officers and two rows of yellow police tape, Gilchrist led his group in a chant, "Go to Hell. Go to Hell."

A pro-immigrant protester yelled back, "You forgot your (KKK) hood." The immigration rights group also chanted: "Minutemen go away. Immigrants are here to stay."

**I need to know if anybody heard this. It is not what I heard. If this was not said, it is slander. Thank you.

Day 10: Minuteman Caravan to Washington, D.C.... E Pluribus Unum (C-SPAN 11am) Braveheart Patriots ^ | May 12, 2006 | The Spirit of Allegiance by La Enchiladita

Firsthand report:

The rally went okay. There was about 125 in attendance, plus about forty reporters and photographers. The pro-illegal commies numbered about forty. The Capitol police did a good job of establishing a security perimeter. There were no incidents that I'm aware of.

It was very hard to hear the speeches. The sound system was tiny. The chants of the pro-illegal commies easily overpowered the sound system for those who weren't standing close to the podium.

Brian Becker, leader of the Workers World Party front group International ANSWER was hanging with his fellow commies. His bald spot in the back of his head is expanding rapidly. I guess being on the losing side of so many political fights is stressing him out.

After the rally, the two sides stood across from each other, separated by the police and yelled taunts at each other. 94 posted on 05/12/2006 4:20:44 PM CDT by kristinn

Loose Change 2nd Edition

WHO'S RUNNING AMERICA? ~Malkin- President Bush may finally be coming around to beefing up the border with National Guard troops, but it's not stopping foreign governments and activist judges from interfering in the enforcement of our immigration laws. The Mexican consulate is investigating our immigration agents for arresting illegal aliens in northern Kentucky

For the Naysers Here, you know who you are

While we're on the subject of foreign meddling, there's a related development on the Border Patrol/Minutemen/Mexico story from Sara Carter of the Inland Daily Bulletin

BEYOND BORDERS- Inquiry sought on 'tipping' of border group locations-Congressional leaders Thursday called on the Department of Homeland Security to investigate reports that U.S. Customs and Border Protection has given information to the Mexican government about the locations of U.S. civilian border watch groups. California Reps. Duncan Hunter, R-El Cajon, and Darryl Issa, R-Vista, along with Texas Rep. John Culberson, R-Houston, sent a formal letter to DHS Secretary Michael Chertoff asking for a full investigation into all circumstances and events related to civilian border observation groups and the Mexican government.

Banshee's Pay attention:

TJ Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council, which represents more than 10,000 border agents, said he has no doubt officials share information with the Mexican government and that line agents have been complaining for years about the issue.

Scott James, a former Border Patrol agent stationed in the Tucson sector, said he resigned after eight years in February for that very reason.

James said that agents in his sector were continuously having to deal with the demands of the Mexican consulates, who he said eventually moved into a Border Patrol office at the Nogales station. James added that roughly half a dozen Mexican consular officials shared the Border Patrol office and were privy to agents' investigations because of the close contact. "Of course (Border Patrol officials) are going to deny they are sending information to the Mexican government,'' James said. "I don't think anyone is going to believe their denials. There were directives not to talk to civilian border groups, but if you have any contact with a civilian border group you were supposed to contact your supervisor immediately and report it.''

"I hope there's more than a hearing but a full-blown investigation,'' he said. "I hope it doesn't end there. The federal government has no business sharing the lawful activities of its citizens, especially with one that is riddled with corruption as Mexico is.''

Read this and Weep!

Andy Ramirez, chairman of the Chino-based Friends of the Border Patrol, said he was pleased with the representatives' call for an investigation. He said information posted on the Mexican Web site detailing the location of his volunteer group near San Diego was only given to U.S. Border Patrol officials. "Congress needs to investigate this personally to get to the truth,'' he said.

"As far as the statement of denial from the DHS, I would believe TJ Bonner and the Border Patrol agents before I would believe someone sitting behind a desk in Washington.''

A strong statement from Bush on Monday in defense of our sovereignty would be nice. But I'm not holding my breath...~Malkin

Polipundit already knows what Bush is going to say... I can pretty much sum up what{he}is going to say in his Monday address. He’s said it all before:

I oppose amnesty, placing undocumented workers on the automatic path to citizenship.

Notice that Clintonian weasel word, “automatic.” Notice his unique definition of “amnesty.” “Undocumented workers” (or “illegal aliens” as they should properly be called) will not get “automatic” citizenship; therefore they’re not getting amnesty.

Instead they will be allowed to buy US citizenship for $2,000, provided they go “to the back of the line,” not the “front of the line”:

But what I do think makes sense is that a person ought to be allowed to get in line. In other words, pay a penalty for being here illegally, commit him or herself to learn English, which is part of the American system – (applause) – and get in the back of the line.

{He}is proposing to reward 20 million illegal invaders with US citizenship. Yet he’ll claim to oppose “amnesty.” This is not new; McCain and Kennedy claim to oppose “amnesty” too.

Tens of thousands of legal hi-tech guest workers who’ve been working here for several years are not allowed to join the line for citizenship, at the front or back. The 6 billion “decent human beings” around the world, who have never violated US or other laws, are not allowed to join the line, at the front or back.

The privilege of joining the line for US citizenship will be reserved for those who can prove that they’ve been committing immigration fraud, work fraud, forgery, and perjury for at least five years. Yet, this is supposedly not an “amnesty” for them...

IMMIGRATION: BUSH'S DOG AND PONY SHOW Jim Kouri

House Permits Pentagon to Assign U.S. Military Along Mexican Border

and Pentagon Exploring Border Control Patrols

and Pentagon May Help Secure Border Bush Seeks Military's Ideas For Problems Along U.S.-Mexico Border

NBC: Bush may deploy Guard along U.S. border - President to address nation on immigration Monday as Senate nears deal

The one thing that no one seems to learn though is..........a first rate nation NEVER pulls up a third world nation to their standards....the first rate nation is ALWAYS pulled down.

Arrival of aliens ousts U.S. workers

"The national plan now being pushed by Washington calls for every law enforcement agency to develop a [domestic] intelligence capability. Experts estimate that well over 100 police departments, from big-city operations to small county sheriffs' offices, have now established intelligence units of one kind or another. Hundreds of private detectives are also working alongside federal agents on FBI-run Task Forces, and over 6,000 state and local cops now have federal security clearances, allowing them to see classified intelligence reports."

Spies Among Us- Despite a troubled history, police across the nation are keeping tabs on ordinary Americans

Illegal Immigration Becoming A Growing Problem In Greenwood- The ArkLaTex may be hundreds of miles from the mexican border, but it seems illegal immigration is an issue that's at our doorstep. And police in at least one local town are frustrated. Greenwood is no border town, yet police say it is a doorway of sorts that suspected illegal immigrants are using all the time to gain access to other parts of the country. And they say there isn't much they can do to stop it.

Fences in plans for Mexican border - Even advocates say a physical barrier alone won't work- DOUGLAS, Ariz. Much of this dusty city along the border is separated from Mexico by a fence consisting of 12-foot vertical metal bars, spaced inches apart to prevent illegal immigrants from squeezing through.

INVASION USA Minutemen hit D.C. Rally at Capitol to end cross-country caravan

Sheriff bills Mexico for jailed aliens- UMADILLA, Calif., May 12 (UPI) -- A sheriff in northeastern Oregon has gotten into the immigration dispute by billing Mexican President Vicente Fox for jail costs for 360 of "your citizens." Umatilla Sheriff John Trumbo, who has yet to hear back from Mexico, said in his letter that illegal Mexican immigrants spent time in jail "at a cost of $63 a day which equates to a request for payment of $318,843

Sheriff handcuffed by immigration laws-am frequently asked about "illegal immigration." Many suggest that "immigration" denotes a legal and controlled activity. Given the huge numbers, many prefer to refer to the unregulated entry of foreigners across our borders as an invasion. The question I am asked is, "What are you doing as a local law enforcement official to address illegal immigration?" Whether this question is posed to me as sheriff or to the local police agencies, the answer is the same. "Nothing!"

Subcontractor In Court Charged With Hiring Illegal Immigrants- The federal case against a subcontractor charged with hiring illegal immigrants is due in court Friday. A federal grand jury handed down 13 indictments Thursday against Robert Pratt and three of his family members. Four Fischer Homes supervisors were also indicted. The supervisors and 76 illegal immigrants were arrested Tuesday during a raid in Northern Kentucky.

Cincinatti-4 Fischer supervisors indicted in alien case- Four Fischer Homes supervisors arrested Tuesday and accused of harboring and shielding aliens from detection were indicted Thursday on the same charges.

I-40 traffic stops net nearly 90 illegals - ALBUQUERQUE -- Night after night for the last eight days, deputies on routine patrol have found large groups of illegals passing through the Albuquerque area. They've found so many, even the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department says the large numbers are highly unusual. Deputies, who say they aren’t looking illegal immigrants, are finding them a dozen at a time during routine traffic stops on Interstate 40, usually in the early morning hours.

Feds: Suspect organized illegals -One of the men arrested in this week's crackdown on suspected illegal workers is a naturalized citizen from Mexico who helped bring his once-deported brother and other Mexicans into the United States, transporting them from his California home to Northern Kentucky to work, according to court documents.

President Bush III? ~Farah I call it "the political kiss of death." It was President Bush's endorsement of his brother Jeb as a future "great president."

Congressman calls attention to illegals-Valdosta -- A Georgia congressman tells a South Georgia civic organization that immigration is a major problem. First District Representative Jack Kingston spoke to the Valdosta Kiwanis Club Friday, and discussed issues surrounding illegal immigration

Senate OK of immigration bill assured- But Bush still at odds with House GOP

The GOP is blowing it-There's a lot of talk going around about how bad the November elections are going to be for the Republican Party. I ought to know – I'm doing a lot of that talking with grassroots conservatives every day on our four-hour radio show. The GOP has only itself to blame for its problems, and I say this as a proud conservative Republican who twice voted for George Bush and wants very badly to see him regain his political footing.

Immigration top issue at Utah GOP convention- SALT LAKE CITY -- Rep. Chris Cannon knows that when he walks into the Utah state Republican convention on Saturday, he's got to come across as tough on illegal immigration.

Senate Sellout: Frist and Reid Agree To Revive Amnesty - Bill Frist and Harry Reid brokered a "compromise" Bill to go forward with Amnesty. They will send a bipartisan team of Senators to badger the house into abandoning HR 4437. Do not let this pass! Call your senators and let them know that you oppose amnesty!
