#12.
Many people seem to have forgotten 9-11. Especially the DU/Kos loony crowd. Truth is, they hate Bush more than they hate Bin Laden.
When I did the google search to find that link, I saw a link referring to the babies born around that time who have shown higher stress levels. Also, a little about the baby boom right after. I found it interesting, since I became pregnant on October 11 of that year (the world looked like it was going to end, and I suddenly wanted have a baby. go figure.) My first post-9/11 baby is the most headstrong of all my children. Just an interesting observation.
"Too few know anything about the man. Furthermore, I was in MI on 9/11/01. The feedback I got from the folks in The Heartland was, "Well, it's NY. Who cares?" Even the folks in the taverns where there were TVs showing the carnage, no one paid any attention; they just ordered another drink."
You must live in an alternate reality, everyone I know was in a daze for days, if not weeks afterwards. Our entire company shut down for the day, nobody could work, and the same was true of companies all over the country. My phone and my girlfriend's cell phones were ringing off the hook as everyone we know called us from all over the country. (She was from NYC, I have family there, everyone wanted to know if our families were okay - thankfully, they were all safe...)
And this so-called indifference you say was there is a slap and spit in the face of the enormous, mind-boggling outpouring of donations, volunteers, and help afterwards, people went to NYC from all over the country (and the world), for free, on their dime, to help find the victims in the rubble, they sent money, food, clothes, tools... how on EARTH did you miss that? I saw a response from everywhere in this country that will never be matched in it's generosity, it was a virtual flood.
I have no idea why you would post what you did. Perhaps you hang out in "taverns" with drunks who only care about their next drink, but the rest of us experienced a much different reality than you did. I can't think of anyone I know, including people I work with in every state (sales), who was'nt horrified, shocked, and reeling for weeks afterwards.
Six days later, on Sept 11, 2001, several foreigners who had overstayed their visas participated in the most devastating attack on New York City that our country had ever seen.
Good catch.
If you don't already have it, purchase a copy of the movie, 9/11. It was actually supposed to be a documentary by 2 French brothers on the NYC Fire Department.
It contains the only known footage of the FIRST plane striking the towers, plus the only footage from inside the lobby of Tower I as Tower II came down.
VERY MOVING. VERY WELL DONE. I've played the DVD many times in the last 5 years, and weep every single time.
No need to be insulting. Relax. It was an observation of some people I OBSERVED on a project in Detroit.
I'll remind the two executives at Hayes Lemmerz that you are inferring that we are all drunks at lunch-time. BTW, I worked with people at Deloitte and Touche at Three Trade Center and lawyers in the WTC.
/sarcasm
Invalid? Is that a euphemism for counterfeit?
Nitpickery is not pithiness ... A invalid green card would obviously include those that are counterfeit.
Are you dishonestly suggesting that it was something else?
That photo isn't clear enough to show a baby. Do you have any source of information that includes a baby among the 9/11 victims at the World Trade Center?
