Europe's botched civilization, perverted by socialism and lost faith, seems to have lost the will, the passion to sustain itself. If it continues to practice today's multiculturalist leftism, Europe's demographic doom will be sealed. Some harbingers:
In Brussels, Belgium, the most popular name for baby boys is now Mohammad. Sustaining the population of a nation requires that on average each couple gives birth to 2.1 children. The average European couple now has fewer than 1.4 babies, compared to 3.6 babies born to the average Muslim immigrant couple in Europe. Across Western Europe 16 to 20 percent of babies are being born into Muslim families. In France at least 12 percent of the population is already Muslim, the fruits mostly of immigrants from former French colonies in North Africa. If present birth trends continue, by 2030 a quarter of France's people will be Muslim, more than enough to determine who controls the national parliament and executive. As this columnist recently noted, the nuclear-armed French military is already 15 percent Muslim. Adjacent Switzerland is now 20 percent Muslim. The German newspaper Deutsche Welle days ago reported that Germany's birth rate in 2005 fell to a level lower than at the end of World War II, to a "historic low," more than fifty percent lower than those of France and Great Britain. But at a meeting this week in Berlin that brought together the interior ministers of six European nations, Germany's leftwing Social Democrats continued to oppose the application of any test or standard that would restrict who could migrate into Germany.
The burgeoning Muslim population within Europe is not evenly spread. It is largely concentrated in and around big cities, whose local politicians feel its pressure acutely and often bend to that pressure. In the Netherlands the cities of Amsterdam and Rotterdam nearly have Muslim majorities now.
These Islamic enclaves are already taking on the character of conquered provinces that no longer belong to the European countries around them. As FrontPage Magazine recently quoted from the new book While Europe Slept by liberal American expatriate Bruce Bawer:
In France, a public official met with an imam at the edge of Roubaix's Muslim district out of respect for his declaration of the neighborhood as Islamic territory to which she had no right of access. In Britain, imams have pressed the government to officially designate certain areas of Bradford as being under Muslim, not British, law. In Denmark, Muslim leaders have sought the same kind of control over parts of Copenhagen. And in Belgium, Muslims living in the Brussels neighborhood of Sint-Jans-Molenbeek already view it not as part of Belgium but as an area under Islamic jurisdiction in which Belgians are not welcome.
Granny just how are you feeling?
Terrorism threat shouldnt cloak espionage dangers
April 10, 2006
(CP)
The federal watchdog over Canadas spy agency is warning that the current obsession with terrorism shouldnt blind CSIS to another danger: good old-fashioned espionage.
The threat of foreign powers pilfering sensitive secrets likely has grown, not diminished, in recent years, says Eva Plunkett, inspector general of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service.
Everyone thinks of the threat now in terms of terrorism, Plunkett said in an interview. But I think there are threats on other fronts, as well.
During the Cold War, CSIS and its forerunner, the RCMP Security Service, focused almost exclusively on protecting Canada from espionage and subversion, mainly from Soviet Bloc spies.

I put aside a post, on the internet, looks hard to post and the left arm won't work today..or not vey well.
In fact nothing is working.
I just heard a mexican voice on the news, say that "there are 13 million immigrants, here deprived of the vote in America"....
That did not help my blood pressure, and it is exactly what I read a couple of years ago in the Mao files at etext.org.
"The border must be kept open, so we can bring in voters".... is the Mao plan.
will see how the day goes, but for now, not going to answer the posts, just do some one arm posting.

S. Korea: Tokyo's DNA tests spawn a new dilemma
for Seoul

Tokyo's DNA tests spawn a new dilemma for Seoul
Paternity case highlights plight of abducted Jeolla man in North
April 12, 2006 ¤Ñ Authorities in Tokyo notified their counterparts here
yesterday that the husband of an abducted Japanese woman who died
in North Korea was almost certainly a South Korean who was also
kidnapped and taken to the North. Officials in Seoul said they would
begin their own investigation into the Japanese conclusion, which was
based on DNA testing of the couple's daughter and her paternal
relatives.
The Japanese investigation rejected the assertion by North Korea that
Megumi Yokota, a Japanese woman who was abducted in 1977, had
married a North Korean named Kim Chol-jun in 1986 and lived with
him until his suicide in 1994. Ms. Yokota has one daughter, Kim
Hea-kyong, now 15, who lives in North Korea. But the Japanese DNA
testing, they said, led them to the conclusion that Hea-kyong's
parents are Ms. Yokota and Kim Yong-nam, who disappeared in
August 1978 at the age of 16 while he and friends were swimming at a
South Jeolla province beach. In 1997, a North Korean defector
confirmed that Kim Yong-nam was still living in the North; South
Korean intelligence organizations confirmed that assertion and added
that two other South Koreans had been abducted four days after Mr.
Kim disappeared.
Tokyo has pursued the matter doggedly. In 2002, they obtained DNA
samples from Ms. Yokota's daughter in Pyongyang. Ms. Yokota's
purported remains were returned to Japan in late 2004, after North
Korea admitted abducting Japanese nationals in the 1970s and
promised to cooperate in locating survivors. But the DNA testing of the
cremated ashes, Tokyo said, showed that the remains were not those
of Ms. Yokota. In February, Japanese officials came to Korea to obtain
DNA samples from Kim Yong-nam's family members to help them
establish whether he was the father of Ms. Yokota's daughter.
Also yesterday, Kenichiro Sasae, the director-general of the Japanese
Foreign Ministry's Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, met with Kim
Gye-gwan, a North Korean senior official, on the sidelines of a private
security conference in Tokyo. He asked Mr. Kim for "sincere efforts"
by the North to settle the many issues concerning the kidnapped
Japanese.
Japanese newspapers trumpeted the news, but the reaction in Seoul
was muted. Officials here said they would look at the DNA test results,
conduct their own inquiry and take "appropriate measures" if they
concurred with the Japanese findings. If true, Tokyo's finding would
put the Roh administration in an even more awkward domestic
position; a cornerstone of Seoul's North Korean policy is not to
antagonize the North, but family members of kidnapped Koreans and
Korean War-era captured soldiers are pressing hard for an accounting
and return of any South Koreans still alive in the North.
[I admit that I don't have knowledge on this subject, at this time there are no comments on the thread, but ckeck later, as there are several Freepers, who will have knowledge and be willing to share it, needs googling too, but I know it will get very deep, if I do.....lazy granny]

Environmentalism secrets

If you think environmentalism is all about saving the Earth,
protecting the whales, stopping pollution, and the like, here's some
news. It's not! Listen to what environmental advocates themselves
have to say:
"I think if we don't overthrow capitalism, we don't have a chance
of saving the world ecologically. I think it is possible to have an
ecologically sound society under socialism. I don't think it's
possible under capitalism."
Judi Bari, Earth First! member.
[Environmentalism equals replacing capitalism with socialism.]
"The environmentalist's dream is an egalitarian society, based on
rejection of economic growth, a smaller population, eating lower
on the food chain, consuming a lot less, and sharing a much lower
level of resources much more equally."
Aaron Wildavsky, political scientist and professor.
[Environmentalism equals making everybody equal; that is, it's communism.]
"No matter if the science is all phony, there are collateral
environmental benefits... [C]limate change [provides] the
greatest chance to bring about justice and equality in the world."
Christine Stewart, Canadian Environment Minister.
[Environmentalism equals changing the world.]
"We must make this an insecure and inhospitable place for
capitalists, and their projects... We must reclaim the roads and
plowed land, halt dam construction, tear down existing dams, free
shackled rivers, and return to wilderness millions of tens of
millions of acres of presently settled land."
David Foreman, EarthFirst! member.
[Environmentalism equals a return to primitive living.]
"We've got to ride the global-warming issue. Even if the theory of
global warming is wrong, we will be doing the right thing, in terms
of economic policy and environmental policy."
Timothy Wirth, Clinton Administration U.S. Under Secretary of State for Global
Affairs, and one of a number of politicians (including Barbara Boxer, Barney
Frank, Al Gore, John Kerry, Christopher Shays, and others) who were designated
as "Green Leadership for the '90s."
[Environmentalism equals changing policy by claiming even without
substantiation it's necessary to save the world's environment.]
"[W]e have to offer up scary scenarios [about global warming and
destruction of the environment], make simplified, dramatic
statements, and make little mention of any doubts one might
have... Each of us has to decide what the right balance is between
being effective and being honest."
Stephen Schneider, Stanford University environmentalist.
[Environmentalism equals lies "if necessary."]
"We routinely wrote scare stories about the hazards of chemicals,
employing words like "cancer," and "birth defects" to splash a little
cold water in reporters' faces... Our press reports were more or
less true... Few handouts, however, can be completely honest,
and ours were no exception... We were out to whip the public into
a frenzy about the environment."
Jim Sibbison, former EPA press officer.
[Environmentalism equals government-sponsored deception.]
"Not only do journalists not have a responsibility to report what
skeptical scientists have to say about global warming, they have a
responsibility not to report what these scientists say."
Ross Gelbspan, former editor of The Boston Globe.
[Environmentalism equals silencing debate, and stifling contrary opinions.]
"I would freely admit that on [global warming] we have crossed
the boundary from news reporting to advocacy."
Charles Alexander, Time magazine science editor.
[Environmentalism equals indoctrination.]
Writer John Meredith summarizes:
"The radical environmental movement is destroying America.
It is turning our society, once based on individual freedom and
responsibility, into little more than mindless followers of
regulations established at the whim of unelected
special-interest groups."
Walter Williams has the last word:
"While the Soviet Union has collapsed, communism is not
dead. It has [been] repackaged under a new name:
Environmentalism. Communism is about extensive government
regulation and control by elites, and so is environmentalism."

Fury at Forbes article labelling Cyprus as trafficking haven
snip
In the 1990s, it said, Cyprus was among 14 countries with businesses that illegally provided Saddam Hussein with conventional weapons. Forbes said this was cited in a report to the CIA on Iraq's weapons of mass destruction.
Cyprus-registered companies also contracted to buy oil and chemical materials from Iraq in violation of the UN embargo, it said.
One result of these dirty dealings with Saddam was the UN-backed oil-for-food programme, which itself proved easy to manipulate. Once again Cyprus was in the centre of a storm, it added, referring to US accusations against Cypriot UN diplomat Benon Sevan.
The article also refers back to the early nineties when Cyprus was a magnet for Russian business, saying that $1 billion a month was flowing out of Russia into Cypriot banks.
Much of it unclean. The Russian mafia controlled as much as 70 to 80 per cent of all business in the motherland during the mid-1990s, according to a report by Izvestiia. Sending money to havens like Cyprus kept it safe from tax collectors, on-the-take bureaucrats, creditors, other gangsters and shaky Russian banks
Today Russian crime has a different face in Cyprus, where a thriving sex trade draws women from former Soviet states.

Will Mexico turn against the U.S.?
Firmas Press ^ | Apr. 11, 2006 | Carlos Alberto Montaner

AMLO, as he is popularly known, is a left-wing neopopulist, and he
leads in all the polls in his country despite his mediocre performance
as governor of the Federal District. ...
So far, the Mexican media are full of accusations about Chávez's
copious contributions to AMLO's political campaign, as if the
Venezuelan's plans included bringing Mexico into his hallucinatory
project for a Bolivarian revolution.
Common sense should tell any Mexican president that his most
important priority is getting along well with the United States, its very
powerful neighbor, principal trade partner and travel destination for
tens of millions of Mexicans. But ideology usually is a bad counselor
that distorts perceptions.
After all, Chávez should also be interested in maintaining good
relations with the United States, the country that buys 80 percent of
the oil Venezuela exports. Yet he engages systematically in trying to
provoke a crisis between the two nations and does not hesitate to call
President Bush ''murderer,'' ''coward,'' ''genocidal criminal'' and
``drunkard.''
What role does Mexico play in Chávez's fevered fantasies? Because he
is a messianic person intent on reconstructing the Bolivarian history
and geography of the 19th century, it is reasonable to predict that he
dreams of regaining for Mexico the territories that country lost after
the 1846-47 U.S.-Mexican War and that now constitute the
southwestern United States.
Let us recall that in 1917 German Foreign Minister Arthur
Zimmermann offered Mexican President Venustiano Carranza the
return of those territories if Mexico attacked the United States from
the south and entered World War I on the German side. Discovery of
this secret offer prompted President Woodrow Wilson to ask Congress
for a formal declaration of war against Berlin.
Will Mexico let itself be drawn in the direction plotted by Chávez?

WWII ace who flew with cat dies at 84
Pioneer Press ^ | 4-11-06 | ap
Posted on 04/11/2006 5:50:26 PM MDT by Rakkasan1
To make a point to fellow fighter pilots in World War II, Col. Fred J.
Christensen always flew with Sinbad, a stray black cat he had found.
Seeing him return safe from combat missions black cat and all
helped motivate the other pilots, his daughter Diane Haagensen said
Sunday.
And counter to traditional superstitions, Sinbad was very good luck for
her father, who shot down 22 Nazi planes during the war, including six
in a two-minute span of one air battle.
Christensen, who the Massachusetts Air National Guard said was
believed to be the last living U.S. ace from World War II, died April 4
in a Northborough, Mass., nursing center. He was 84 and was being
treated for complications from diabetes.
Though he flew 107 combat missions against the German Luftwaffe,
"he was a very humble man," his daughter said in a telephone
interview. "He didn't want to be known as a war hero."
Christensen "was happy for the opportunity to speak with people,
especially children, because he wanted them to know about history
and that wars were not always good things," she said, "because
people had to make sacrifices and their families had to make
sacrifices."
