Passing such a law won't make much difference in the long run. Let me explain. Under the Immigration and Nationality Act, Section 1325, it's already a misdemeanor to enter the US illegally (without inspection), making all such illegal aliens liable for prosecution in US District Courts. There are so many of them, however, that US Attorneys, the prosecutors, won't touch a single case unless there are overwhelming aggravating circumstances as to make it attractive for them to prosecute(and to make a win likely, because they jealously protect their 97+% conviction rate against any risk of a loss). In short, the numbers are just overwhelming, and would prevent prosecutions of other Federal crimes presented to them by such as the FBI, ATF, DEA, etc. Turning all these millions of misdemeanors into felonies doesn't change the numbers game or the nature of the problem in prosecuting. The prosecutors would still triage the cases as severely as they already do, and would wind up just not prosecuting the felonies either, for the same reasons as above.

Not to mention, L.A.'s little immigration temper tantrum seems to have back fired in this local poll!

Passing such a law won't make much difference in the long run.

But it would make them ineligible to ever be a citizen. So even if few were prosecuted, just knowing they would lose out on the opportunity to be legal in the future if caught, some might voluntarily leave.

I think the best part of the Sensenbrenner bill is that employers of illegals would be punished. No jobs, they'd self-deport. A win-win situation.

Just wrote to my corrupt Democrat congressman here in North NJ. He'll kiss the Hispanic voters asses to stay in power. I gave him a piece of my mind but good. Here in NJ they USE illegals to do the political foot work , knocking on doors for the local politicians at election time . Things like that . Look at Union City NJ someday to see illegals at their best . They run half the town . It's a crime for sure.

I understand where you are going with this; but are you actually suggesting that we should train an army of illegals and give them access to the most sophisticated weaponry on the planet?

Uhhhhhh...

"He went on to say how he would follow Jesus's rules rather than the U.S. Government.

Hmmm... that seems a bit far fetched.

Wonder how he feels about abortion?"

That depends on which church. Just because a church is considered mainline protestant doesn't mean it holds conservative values.
