A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997. Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

When the earth is ravaged and the animals are dying, a new tribe of people shall come unto the earth from many colors, classes, creeds, and who by their actions and deeds shall make the earth green again. They will be known as the warriors of the Rainbow -- Old Native American Prophecy
Dawn Rainbow
A rainbow only bounces back to you the color in the light. You get something quite special when the circumstance is right. An early morning shower when the sun had hardly shown, Caused the rainbow to get dressed in haste, in colors not its own.
Full golden was the rainbow, with neon at the edge, As the sun was rising sleepily from beyond its earthen ledge. I had never seen a rainbow that was monochrome like that, But I remember vividly just where I was and where it sat.
There was no gold to find down on the ground beneath the bow, For all of it was utilized in putting forth the glow. No doubt you think Im daft to even say I saw the sight, For no one else has ever seen a rainbow in dawns light.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

The Rainbow Bridge
Reflections
- God sets a mirror down for us, To bounce back sunny days, He does it when the rain has passed, To help us see the rays.
The reflection that we see in it, Is not of hair and skin. What we see is an image of, The gloried state were in.
Light pink, and brighter orange, And yellow brighter still. I sit and look at glorys frame, Upon my favorite hill.
The others call it rainbow, But I know what it is, A magic mirror in the sky, That lets us know were His.
The body that we occupy down here, Is nothing like its start, For one, the most attractive thing, Has always been the heart.
God looks into our heart and then, Just for His own amusement. He gives a glimpse of what He sees, And laughs at our confusement.
That doesnt look at all like me! I hear your protests start, But when you look at other folks, How can you see their heart?
If you admit theres beauty, Reflecting from some source, Just think how glorious it will be, When Hes revealed full force.
And you and I are with Him, And joining in the glow. Next time you see a rainbow, I thought you ought to know.

Outstanding picture!
I have been to copper harbor.. a few years back. I went with two friends.. a gal & guy.. we drove together & shared a room & we did rock hounding & worked the mine scrap pile. It was my first time at Lake superior.. I was in awe with the large quartz just on the shore.. It is LOVELY country!

Thank you, though I didn't take that shot. I will add though that it is difficult to take a 'bad' picture there. Beautiful country!

Actually I remember you telling me about that. Do you remember the name of the mine you went copper hunting at? Cliff Mine would be my guess, beautiful area and kind of close to that area.

Evening everybody.
Nice thread, Dolly - thanks much.
The Rainbow
The rainbow of colors
So merry and bright
Each color has a purpose
Even black and white
The rainbow is so full
Of radiance and gleam
It sparkles and shines
Through every little beam
After a storm
A rainbow you'll see
With all the glaring colors
A rainbow there'll be
Then at the end
Your dream will come true
A pot of gold awaiting
All just for you

I Don recall the name of the mine.. actually we spent about 5 days hitting mines all over the upper peninsula. The male Terry drove & planned the desitinations including a treasure map of sorts.. we wandered in forest for about 7 hours & did find the "locale" , Our transportation.. (2 day old SUV).. Gail & I just loaded it down. We were the pack rats & he was much more selective in what he collected. I need to find my "stuff" from the trip. my favorite collected mineral is a very heavy metallic.. similar to fools gold but more dense.. cannot recall it's name. Have some very large pieces. I have rocks I have collected from early childhood.. big rocks.. that are borders around my flower beds.. move them each time -well the special ones.
the trip to UP was pre digital........as is, did take about 6 rolls of film.

Hi Victoria... you ALWAYS find the neatest graphics. I did not see that one.. and I thought I had gone thru the lot.
Thanks.. neat poem also. (did you see I posted a song?).. I was very hesitant.. had no clue how to do it a while back.. Aqua helped me learn. My older computer in addition to being small didn't handle music too well.
To: DollyCali
You did a great job, Dolly, and it works well. Thanks.
