Re: Your attempt to shut down political free speech on the Internet
John McCain, you treasonous bastard, I challenge you or any of your traitorous cohorts to find even one thread, one post, one paragraph, one sentence or even one lousy word posted to this web site that is not fully protected by the First Amendment!
And I will extend that to one chapter, one group, one poster or any group of posters on this forum. Name one assembly, petition, letter, protest, meeting or rally convened, filed, submitted, attended or supported by members of this forum that is not 100% protected and guaranteed as free speech or free assembly by the First Amendment!
Your McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform legislation is a treasonous act. You and your cohorts are attempting to subvert the Constitution of the United States of America, the very same constitution that you swore an oath to defend, so help you God! That makes you a domestic enemy of that great document and a traitor to your country. Yes, and Benedict Arnold was a war hero before he turned traitor too.
How dare you even think that you are qualified to sit in the oval office! Ronald Reagan's office! President? Hah! You miserable excuse for a two-bit political hack, you're not even qualified to shine Ronald Reagan's boots. If you do run, I'm afraid you're gonna be at least one vote short. It'll be a cold day in hell before a traitor like you ever receives my vote. And that's a campaign promise you can take to the bank.
You can take your fascist campaign finance laws and the jackbooted FEC anti-free-speech enforcers you are empowering and put them where the sun don't shine. And if this post is in violation of your unconstitutional law, shove it too!
Paraphrased from In the Face of Evil: Reagan's War in Word and Deed:
The Beast never dies, it simply changes form. The Beast has known many forms: Bolshevism, communism, Nazism, fascism. The Beast has had many names: Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler, Tojo, Mao, Pol Pot.
The Beast cannot co-exist with freedom. The very first freedom lost is the freedom of speech, then religion, knowledge and the arts. Anything that empowers the individual must be destroyed. The state must control all.
Power to the state.
Power as an end to itself.
Those who speak out against the Beast are labeled extremists, radicals, warmongers. Churchill, McCarthy, Reagan.
The Beast must be contained, appeased. We must have "Detente" at any cost. Direct confrontation of the Beast must be avoided.
Appease him and pray the wolf may pass our door.
Free speech must die.
The Beast never dies.
"I think it was on the fourth day [after being shot down] that two guards came in, instead of one. One of them pulled back the blanket to show the other guard my injury. I looked at my knee. It was about the size of a football . . . when I saw it, I said to the guard, 'O.K., get the officer' . . . an officer came in after a few minutes. It was the man that we came to know very well as 'The Bug.' He was a psychotic torturer, one of the worst fiends that we had to deal with. I said, 'O.K., I'll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital.'"
McCain had his wounds treated in one of their military hospitals where they treated their own officers, he received treatment not available for other U.S. prisoners of war.
...before any Navy military member went to Vietnam, we were first sent to SEER (survival, evasion, escape and resistance) training run by the Marine Corps. There, I witnessed full Navy captains and commanders (pilots) weep and break (enlisted sailors such as I were treated better); so it does not surprise me that POWs did also, and, as I understand, EVERY one of our Vietnam POWs at the Hanoi Hilton did sign untrue statements drafted by our NVA enemy at the time. Now, I suppose you're going to tell me, that you would have NEVER signed or bartered for better treatment while in the hands of the enemy but I would love to see you make such a statement when you're a captive for a couple of years and subjected to extremely harsh treatment.
Both POWs Admirals Jeremiah Denton and James Stockdale (McCain's seniors) knew him well at the Hanoi Hilton and supported his testimony (incidentally, Stockdale, now deceased but an independent who ran as Perot's Veep, was no great McCain fan)...
Larson told the New Times, "Between the two of us, it's our belief, and to the best of our knowledge, that no prisoner was beaten or harmed physically in that camp [known as 'The Plantation'].
The Vietnam vets are going to Swift Boat him just like they did Kerry.
SUPPORT him? How do I support him?
I have never donated one dime to any of his campaigns.
It's YOUR state that continues to reelect him!
I defend his POW years against vicious and blantantly false accusations by keyboard jocks using smear sources who have never been a POW for one hour, let alone for over 5 years.
Better check your dates: McCain was first elected to Congress in 1982 during RWR's first term. Admiral Stockdale had all of his faculties for years after the POWS were released in '73. He had nothing but praise for McCain. Ditto for RWR.
I know we have had this conversation previously.
WHICH mistake of Reagan's are you talking about?
And, how do you lump Bush into this newest legislation...I haven't heard him speak about this.
BUT, you think this is scary, the United Nations wants to take over some control of the internet!!! We KNOW that the Kerrys of the world would go along with them.
I saw an interview on Fox last week sometime with some of their stock market people...and they said that the Stock Market would probably LOVE for the dems to take over at least one of the houses of Congress...
Just because of the spending part...that Bush would come closer to vetoing a spending bill if the dems are in control of one House..
However, if the House goes to the dems...Bush will have more to worry about than spending bills..it will be impeachment.
There is no blur when it comes to comparing a Liberal Dem to a liberal Republican. The Dems have gone so far to the left they should actually call themselves what they are - Marxists. The most liberal Republican out there does not even begin to compare.
Hence I will be voting Republican, if nothing else to keep the Marxists out of power.

Here is a comment from another POW captured at the same time as McCain. He argues that McCain is no hero for not taking advantage of the offer of an early release. He was following orders from the senior officers present. The North Vietnamese tried to leverage McCain's status as the son of an admiral.
Salon has a different account here. McCain was certainly treated like an animal in the POW camp. Everyone was treated like an animal. It was a wretched experience. Still, his performance in the real world since that experience is a good indicator of preferences and prejudices. I would never vote for him based on his behavior in political world. There are better alternatives.
My dad was working in Pentagon from 1966 to 1969. He received a daily brief on McCain's status. He worked closely with McCain's father (the admiral). My dad's view of McCain was always colored by the inside information that he was not permitted to share.
I don't know, maybe we have ourselves to blame for not working harder on the grassroots level to feed the right candidates into the system????
Then again, maybe many people vote for a candidate who seemingly represents their values when they are in lower-level political offices, but then they abandon these same values once they begin to play politics on the national level.
I think it is partially because for many, many years we have depended on the walter cronkites and dan rathers for our information. A combination of laziness (on our parts) and potent propaganda on the MSM's part.
I think you could throw in the fact that the vast majority of us went to government schools and liberal universities. In fact, it is surprising and hopeful that we aren't totally brainwashed.
I dunno. What do you think?
And yet they are re-elected...
We'd better make sure mccain and his ilk don't shut down or oversee forums like this one. We would be back to where we started. Except REALLY frustrated.
We might have to assemble publicly even.
Who was it that signed CFR? I seem to forget.
Yes, but this is so much more effective.
