...Being a true blue Conservative I respectfully disagree with you. Blair IMHO hankers to be regarded as a Statesman and wants a world stage more than being PM of Britain or the rotating EU Presidency. He therefore in my opinion aligned himself with GWB and bingo he has his world stage. I agree with his WOT policies but not the reasons behind them, I also blame Blair for some of the UK intel given to the US and others but that is another story. Having said all of the above I support him in his fight against terrorism disagree with virtually everything domestic but also realize that a lot of his policies are no way far enough left for his own party so am thankful of that. At the end of the day he is my PM and therefore I respect the office if not the man.

I can't argue about even one word you said. Besides the fact we are separated by a common language, you are 100% correct in your analysis. BTW, if his actions are effective, I really don't care if his motives are less than blessed.

Another thing that we tend to forget (or never knew) was that not all Americans were in favor of Independence. Neighbors were not united against the Redcoats. There were Patriots 30-35%, Loyalists 30-35%, and "moderates" aka "don't bother me with your problems" 30-35%.

Have you ever read the 1940 best seller, Oliver Wiswell, by Kenneth Roberts?  It tells the story of the revolution from the point of view of some loyalists.  Very good book.  I first read it in high school in the late 60s.

Murtha is just one of many who have lost heart and fell to our enemies.

We must pick up their slack, and let the enemy know that when one falls another will take his place, and another, and another.

They must be told everyday that we will not surrender, and the propaganda ministers in the US and abroad who fight with our enemy, DO NOT SPEAK FOR US.
