Tony Snow is back and better than ever!  Tony's gguests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:

RIP, DWP Thanks to Chuck Schumer, Duncan Hunter, and a host of other Congressmen, Dubai Ports World says it will turn its U.S. operations over to some phantom American entity. So when the UAE tells us they don’t feel like helping out in the War on Terror, we’ll thank Congress. Tony has more

From the Senate U.S. Senator Sam Brownback will be speaking at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference this weekend. Before he does, he’ll talk to Tony about a host of issues - - including the killed ports deal and the South Dakota abortion legislation.

Sensible Immigration Reform There’s been a lot of grandstanding on both sides of the immigration debate. Someone who has a common sense solution approach to the issue is Newt Gingrich. He joins Tony.

And there's more!

Here's the deal: For those fans who would like to ask for a photo-- please send an email request to Tony at tonysnow@foxnews.com (please note in the subject line of the email "For Tony")  and provide your home mailing (not email) address. Tony will send you a real, actual, signed photo -- not stuff that people have to download. Please pass it on.

By the way, if you miss anything, the show is streamed again immediately after the three hours. Please feel free to add thread narrative about what is aired on the show as a group effort is helpful to get more of the content posted and is much appreciated by those reading the thread later. If you’d like on or off the Tony Snow Show ping list, please post a request. All requests happily honored.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time -- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!

I just had a /tinfoil thought.

ALL of this is a ROVEian scheme. Its the vetting process for Bush, so that now (but more importantly, after he leaves office)... he will be the ONE GUY, more than anybody, arabs would 'trust' if they were going to 'trust' any american politican.

He will be shown to be the ONE PERSON who will stand up even to his entire own 'party', and be an honest broker.

He'll be the 'diplomat' that liberated millions of arabs and mulsims, and heled found a (by then) flourishing Iraq, and much improved Afganistan, given hope to Iranians, and respect to everyoen.

Yep... I still stand by my bold prediction of BUSH monuments dotting the ME in 40 years. ;)

I'd pay each one of them $1 million a year to stay the heck out of our lives and do the right things...
I've been out most of the a.m. and I've missed most of the show, but the congresscritters really disappoint me. It's hard to lead when the followers all head for the woods.

Since I didn't hear the speech...just reading what is posted, could you tell me what you meant by that comment?

The President addressed many different issues .. one of them was about the clip Tony played about alternate fuel (saw grass)

Though the President didn't start his speech with the happenings of DPW .. he did address it in his speech

He also took Q&A after his speech .. IMO , he did very good and cracked a few jokes

"Eller couldn't win in the court of law, they simply lobbyied Warner who said he would look into it. That wasn't enough so he went to Schumer who made hay."

I've had a suspicion about something like this for a long time. Every time P. King and some of the other east coast representatives were asked, if not DP, then who?.....they answered, "well, we will have to 'incentivize' an American company.

Congress had no business in this deal.

Good Story!

When I was sky diving in Arizona back in the 70's I had a wonderful ride up to 3,000 feet in a Cessna 180; at night; with a drunk pilot. He did a barrel roll and then a spin. We weren't wearing seat belts and were bouncing around the cabin. It ended up ok, but I knew how close I was to the end.

After that I changed my life. Nothing like a good wake-up call.

Maybe the White House didn't get out in front of this...because THEY were blindsided by the vehemence that Schmuckie came out with...

And, what if that vehemence had NOTHING to do with "port security"..and everything to do with a DEAL that he wanted done...but DPWorld got in the way???

Just askin....

do the true Republicans really have a majority in congress? I would say no.

The GOP House members have 18 or so RINOs who unless they are given their pork will go with the other side; in the Senate, there are about six. The trouble with the Senate is that it takes at least 60 to do anything and that's a troubling new thing. It used to be filibusters were saved for really momentous issues, like civil rights, and the huge budget fights. Now, everything is filibuster-albe (if that's a word). If I were in the Senate, I think I'd restrict the filibuster...but it takes 2/3 to change Senate rules and I'm not sure we want to take away all obstructions to bad laws. Still, compare the Dems at their zenith: more than 100 seats in the house and more than 60 in the Senate. By comparison, the "Republican majority" has been razor thin.

McCain and Hillary Rally Illegals

Senators John McCain (R.-Ariz.) and Hillary Clinton (D.-N.Y.), the current frontrunners for their parties' 2008 presidential nominations, joined Senators Teddy Kennedy (D.-Mass.) and Charles Schumer (D.-N.Y,) in rallying a group of illegal aliens who came to Washington, D.C., on

March 8 as part of a lobbying effort funded by a foreign government to push for amnesty for illegal aliens.

McCain and Clinton both effusively greeted the illegal-alien lobbyists as if they had come to champion some great moral and constitutional cause.
