Tony Snow is back and better than ever!  Tony's gguests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:

RIP, DWP Thanks to Chuck Schumer, Duncan Hunter, and a host of other Congressmen, Dubai Ports World says it will turn its U.S. operations over to some phantom American entity. So when the UAE tells us they don’t feel like helping out in the War on Terror, we’ll thank Congress. Tony has more

From the Senate U.S. Senator Sam Brownback will be speaking at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference this weekend. Before he does, he’ll talk to Tony about a host of issues - - including the killed ports deal and the South Dakota abortion legislation.

Sensible Immigration Reform There’s been a lot of grandstanding on both sides of the immigration debate. Someone who has a common sense solution approach to the issue is Newt Gingrich. He joins Tony.

And there's more!

Here's the deal: For those fans who would like to ask for a photo-- please send an email request to Tony at tonysnow@foxnews.com (please note in the subject line of the email "For Tony")  and provide your home mailing (not email) address. Tony will send you a real, actual, signed photo -- not stuff that people have to download. Please pass it on.

By the way, if you miss anything, the show is streamed again immediately after the three hours. Please feel free to add thread narrative about what is aired on the show as a group effort is helpful to get more of the content posted and is much appreciated by those reading the thread later. If you’d like on or off the Tony Snow Show ping list, please post a request. All requests happily honored.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time -- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!

The Democrat side is pretty easy to explain and support. It consists of Bush Lied and anything Bush or Republicans propose is wrong and horrible.

I know numerous Democrats and few can explain a cohenent plan or proposal as to what they stand for or would support. Even the Iraqi war, they cannot say they would do anything different, only that they would do it better. Better? When I ask them what they'd do better they can't answer that either. Better in their mind consists of Democrats in power. They have given little thought to anything beyond that concept.

Congress should be paid from budget surpluses.

And the entire Dept of Homeland Security should be housed on floors 100+ of the new World Trade Center, right next to the anti-aircraft guns.

I defense of some, I think most of them just did the wrong research. They did so some research on the relationships of the UAE and terrorism.

What they did not do was research on the history and strategery of the area and the country, and they certainly did not do any research on how ports and shipping is done, or the economics of the deal

If that was because of lack of knowledge or laziness, I don't know

This country has come to feel the same when Congress is in session as when the baby gets hold of a hammer.

Will Rogers

With Congress, every time they make a joke it's a law, and every time they make a law it's a joke.

Will Rogers

Reader, suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself.

I halfway agree. The time to throw them out is in the primaries. Nevertheless, a complete turn over in Congress would send a healthy message. When the Republicans act no different than the Dems, and in certain instances worse, it is hard to justify supporting them. Remember newly elected members of either party will hear the wrath of the people and "may" mend their ways.

I am late to the thread...and TV deprived...you commented that "THAT is NOT how he started his speech"...

Since I didn't hear the speech...just reading what is posted, could you tell me what you meant by that comment?

Please??

If anyone didn't get to see the President's speech (brief) and Q&A period (much longer), he was great. He was charming, funny at times, very loose, just doing some plain talk, which is what he does best, sounding very smart, displaying a grasp of the subject matter of all of the questions. Great job, Mr. President.

You got it. Problem is the turncoats. Many politicians who know they can't get elected as a democrat in their districts are running as RINOs and diluting the Republican party. That said, do the true Republicans really have a majority in congress? I would say no.

Trust me... there's a reason they rushed to cut it off before the 45 days... and not just polls and elections.
Too late though, i'm digging and it's not good for any of them... from Pelosi on the west coast to the caliphate of Hill and Chuck in NY. America realizes it's been sold out... finally. It can't keep quiet... but if they have the nerve to drag it out, we'll drag how it got this way out... so be it.

I would be 'racist' enough to profile at airports with a negligible downside...

Racism...or just common sense, not much of which is apparent in the handling of airport security.

Well I know that... I was trying to make that point. People around here have made purely racial reasoning for being against the port deal. The most watered down it gets is "why take a chance (trusting an arab)".

I was calling those people racists.

They got offended saying thats not racism its just reality... totally lacking any perspective. I just simplified it and said ANY judgment or generalization based on race/religion/ethnicity is racism. Including things I would be FOR (like profiling at airports) because if you reasonably, with perspective, think about it... it has a negligible downside (an extra wand wave, etc).

BUT I would not be FOR going so far as to ignore anything an arab ally is willing to do, simply because they are arab... where the downside is effecively making every arab on the planet your enemy (from the comfort of your keyboard).

Basically people got defensive, taking my the LACK of my willingness to "kill all them muslims", as some doe-eyed liberal thinking that you shouldn't even recognize that they are are arabs or muslims, or that if you think about it, you are a racist.

That is NOT what I'm saying... Only when you let it CONTROL your decisios (like many have in this case) do I make the racism charge (otherwise, like I said I'd be 'racist' enough to profile, trying to exlain the diff)

"Can't decide if the first thing that happens to freshman congressmen on arrival in DC is castration or lobotomy."

ROFL! I think it's POWER and a HUGH inflation of EGO! Was hoping that the Pubbies wouldn't be affected by it like the Dims are, guess it was just wishful thinking on my part (albeit, they don't appear to be as bad).

I remember Broomfield (I grew up in Aurora and then lived in Englewood and SE Denver). Where in Montana do you live?
My Mother was from Great Falls and I have relatives there, Billings and Butte.

The ports "outrage" is nothing more than to take Abramoff away from the headlines...all are dirty and more than happy to find any issue to sweep that one under the rug.

2 pings are better than one

It was quite the scramble when I realized that my entire ping list had disappeared. Thanks to dinasour's foresight, I had a place to go to retrieve it, but it took a while.
