Tony Snow is back and better than ever!  Tony's gguests and topics on today's Tony Snow Show include:

RIP, DWP Thanks to Chuck Schumer, Duncan Hunter, and a host of other Congressmen, Dubai Ports World says it will turn its U.S. operations over to some phantom American entity. So when the UAE tells us they don’t feel like helping out in the War on Terror, we’ll thank Congress. Tony has more

From the Senate U.S. Senator Sam Brownback will be speaking at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference this weekend. Before he does, he’ll talk to Tony about a host of issues - - including the killed ports deal and the South Dakota abortion legislation.

Sensible Immigration Reform There’s been a lot of grandstanding on both sides of the immigration debate. Someone who has a common sense solution approach to the issue is Newt Gingrich. He joins Tony.

And there's more!

Here's the deal: For those fans who would like to ask for a photo-- please send an email request to Tony at tonysnow@foxnews.com (please note in the subject line of the email "For Tony")  and provide your home mailing (not email) address. Tony will send you a real, actual, signed photo -- not stuff that people have to download. Please pass it on.

By the way, if you miss anything, the show is streamed again immediately after the three hours. Please feel free to add thread narrative about what is aired on the show as a group effort is helpful to get more of the content posted and is much appreciated by those reading the thread later. If you’d like on or off the Tony Snow Show ping list, please post a request. All requests happily honored.

"Woof" is used in broadcasting to say "stop," "that's enough" or to mark a specific point in time -- which is what is done in this case. "Tony's show starts in 3 minutes: WOOF!" Means in 3 minutes from-- NOW!

Seduction is the word that comes to my mind when these guys get to DC. It really is a matter of the individuals character. I do know many of us here continue communicating with these guys after they win so we can keep the pressure on them.

Sorry about Broomfield being folded into Boulder. That whole area is growing and expanding today.

Further, Congress should not be allowed to raise their own pay; it should be put on the ballot and voted on by citizens. I do realize the possibility that this would cause Congress to spend even more to "buy" votes, but I think it would be worth the risk.

"If that was because of lack of knowledge or laziness, I don't know"

If that's the case, they are too incompetent to be our representatives. It's their job to do the research, be knowledgeable, and do the right thing.

Not cave into mob rule whipped into a xenophobic rage by the dems.

"Each year, some 12,000 bills are introduced in Congress. About 1% of those become law. 18% are designed to modify the tax code in some way; many of those that become law are just to name post offices and federal buildings. They are wasting an incredible amount of their time, and our time."

Those are amazing numbers. 120 bills passed out of 12,000 submitted is a lot of work for nothing, don't you think?

Taxes are altogether another matter. It would be nice to see more of what we pay manifest in forms of new roads and other services.

There just seems to be a wild backlash at our government, regardless of what they try to do they are fighting an uphill battle and have to overcome the stigmas of past corruption.

I don't see why anyone would want to run for public office these days.

Sorry, prairie. Tony was playing the parts of the "and they will hear from us" that Pres. Bush made in NYC with the Fireman standing next to him, following 9/11.

If we could only remember WHO we are, and how great America really is, and in some magic way, get rid of the press/media who are distorting everything that is going on, I think we'd all be a lot better off.

The carping this past week, and NO speeches by the President on this deal, have just about caused me to bust a vein. I take too much in blood-pressure meds to be going through the kind of junk I've seen on TV this week.

And then Brit Hume had this retired Lt. Col. on last night, who talked about WALKING the streets of Baghdad, and watching CHILDREN playing in the streets, and how there was NO CIVIL WAR, how the press are holed up in hotels, getting their "news" from runners and don't really know what is going on "out there" because they are hiding IN the hotels.

Being in contact with our warriors, whether the wounded at Walter Reed, or my mail buddies I've developed in Iraq and Afghanistan, I know that what is being reported is JUNK. PURE unadulterated JUNK.

I am so angry at the media, and angry that the President didn't get ahead of the press and Congress over this Dubai Ports World deal, I could spit copper nickels.

I'm just frustrated. I've been listening to Tony, and watching Brit, but the TRUTH just doesn't get out there, and it's very, very annoying. Even Rummy didn't squash the "Civil war" stuff. And even worse, my buddies on an intel board that I participate in, were mouthing the worst of what's been said by the press this week. I reminded them that they needed to "check their sources" and rethink their conclusions.

You'd think I'd dropped a porcupine into their midst. They all focused on me - so I reminded them of who their fight is, where they've gotten their news and how biased their "opinions" are, because they sure weren't dealing with facts. They don't like being corrected by a woman, but 2 of them came to my defense, and the rest began to see what they'd done, how they were mouthing/repeating really bad information. I found sources to counteract their MISinformation, and stood my ground. It's been a tough fight all week, and I've been using OSINT to do it.

I couldn't change their cast-in-concrete opinions but I finally did make them see that they'd based their OPINIONS on misinformation, emotions and the media that has an agenda, and that they didn't use the usual fact-finding methods that we've been taught to use. I don't think I could expect them to admit that they'd changed their minds, but I'm positive that I made an impact, and that some did.

ridiculous....

THEY CLAIMED they wanted to take a step back, slow down, and look at the facts.. then they charged ahead without doing ANY OF IT...but it's Nush's fault...

ARG!

Trust me... there's a reason they rushed to cut it off before the 45 days... and not just polls and elections.

This tells me that there is a political liability lurking just off the radar screen. Regardless, Iran is going dominate the Front Page soon. When it does, Repubs in Congress will be running to grab onto George's coat.

Welcome back, TNT. I think Ali is either gathering more links or putting more spikes in her baseball bat in case the Dems try to cross the moat around her castle.

[Did I mention that the moat is not full of sharks, but of guys named Vinny!]

That's what I mean. There is no thought behind the party platform other than to undermine ANYTHING the Republicans do. We tend to think about what is best for all, even those morons. And they just DONT get it because they can't get past their hate for conservatives.
