Wonder if the FBI is still too busy (or lacking adequate investigatory personnel) to deal with such matters? It seems like a year or so ago someone posted an article concerning FBI agents who didn't even have PCs to work with.
Who killed the virtual case file?
Snip: Fine concluded that four years after terrorists crashed jetliners into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, the FBI, which had been criticized for not "connecting the dots" in time to prevent the attacks, still did not have the software necessary to connect any new dots that might come along. And won't for years to come.
FBI field offices lack remote access to database
Snip: When a Phoenix FBI agent became suspicious of Middle Eastern men training at an Arizona flight school last summer, he wrote a now well-known memo suggesting a canvass of all U.S. aviation schools. FBI headquarters staff rejected the idea; the bureau didn't have the personnel to do it.
FBI policy office disciplines IT spending
Snip: In a February audit, Glenn Fine, the Justice Departments inspector general, blamed VCF's meltdown on poor management and oversight, design modifications during the project, and bad IT investment practices. Fine warned that the FBI must improve its antiquated computer systems or risk being unable to do its job.
Be aware the link probably drops spy-ware on your computer. It did on mine.

SIDON: Barely one month after seven missiles were found mere meters from the Hariri family residence in Majdalyoun, more explosives were found at the entrance of Sidon's renowned Khan al-Ifranj souk. The explosives were uncovered on Wednesday in the central souk, located northwest of the old city of Sidon. The area is a main venue for cultural and artistic activities organized by the Hariri Foundation, in addition to a popular tourist site famous for its handmade soaps.
Lebanese Army Intelligence and Internal Security Forces officers cordoned off the area immediately after being informed of the discovery.
According to an explosives expert familiar with the details of the discovery, the explosives consisted of two missiles, 0.5 kilograms of explosive material, and two boxes of C3 and C4 explosives, in addition to a bag of steel balls of the kind often used to make bombs. http://www.dailystar.com.lb
The expert said each item was operable, but none was connected to a detonator.
Security sources said the explosives, if connected, could have destroyed a one-floor building and inflicted heavy damage to both property and persons within a 100-meter radius.
Meanwhile, in the Zahrani area of Ansarieh not far from this southern port town, two hand grenades were found by a local resident. The two grenades had been made recently, according to security reports.
Three mortar shells were found on Monday near MP Saad Hariri's Qoreitem residence in Beirut.

Latin Bin Laden to Enjoy US Custody
Washington, Mar 22 (Prensa Latina) Notorious terrorist Luis Posada Carriles accused, among many crimes, of blowing up a Cuban commercial airplane, will remain in US custody for an undetermined period, despite pleas for his extradition.
According to Wednesday´s Bradenton (FLA) Herald, citing a Federal Immigration and Customs Control report, the criminal of Cuban-origin will remain under supervision by US immigration agencies "for the foreseeable future".
Despite the demand by influential US political and media figures, including 20 congress people and the NYT, that the US refuse political refuge to the dangerous international terrorist, the Bush administration is reportedly still considering letting him loose on bail.
US Immigration has declared it will not deport Posada Carriles to either Cuba or Venezuela, where there are outstanding warrants for his crimes against humanity, but will "possibly" deport him someplace else.
Analysts today noted the similar modus operandi between the Carriles-masterminded bombings of Havana hotels in the mid-90s and the terrorist attacks Tuesday night and Wednesday morning on hotels in La Paz, Bolivia.
