Yeah the ISraeli would be a good pick. And hey we have actually convicted people that spyed on us for Israel. So I am sure folks would support that The Israelis were mostly interested in what we had on their enemies, which are now our enemies as well.
Further, the Israelis have no interest in killing American civilians, something that cannot be said for far too many Muslim Arabs.

This proves that they were no friends of ours in the first place and congress has done the right thing (for a change)!!!
So, if I threaten to fire YOU, and you go and find another job on your own, then that means that YOU always had in in for ME from the beginning???

They're not worthless, but there's a reason no American firm bid on them.

LOL, I'm waiting for all these "tough" right-wingers in the congress and public to show their stuff to our DNC/MSM enemies.
Since I haven't seen it for 30 years!
To: Mr. Brightside
Probably the only bright side.
You'd think the way Washington idolizes the guy's smarts, though; that he would have pulled a few cards from the decks of all those stolen FBI files he had on Congress, and closed the deal from behind the scenes.

The problem is that Islam is fighting a war on us, and many people have trouble distinguishing between Muslims who actively mean us harm and people who live in that part of the world and probably simply want to get rich or invest their oil money in something juicy. I don't think the Dubai deal was particularly threatening, although they were also bidding (according to a post here on FR a few days ago) on a deal to provide logistical support for various of our military bases abroad, and I was less in favor of that.
In other words, I think many people feel that Muslims cannot be trusted; I think this is not necessarily the case, but since it is Islam that has attacked us and not vice versa, it is up to them to reassure us. The Congressional thing was a bit of stupid and offensive grandstanding, and I think if Dubai had just ridden it out, there would have been a work-around, and those congress critters would have looked like idiots. Now, in the minds of many people, Dubai is going to look as if it had something to hide after all.

I can't imagine why they were not invited to bid.No American company wanted it. Would you want to deal with the liability issues and the Teamsters?

This should have happened in the first place. I can't imagine why they were not invited to bid. American companies DO NOT want it taxes are to high!

I hope the anti port anti Bush Freepers are happy. Not yet but I will be when U.S. Navy ships are no longer moored to the piers there.

Dubai-owned company has decided to transfer fully the U.S. operation of P&O ports in North America to a U.S. entity, according to Sen. John Warner.

They're not worthless, but there's a reason no American firm bid on them. A bunch of small American firms are already (and have been) running operations all along, even under the P&O umbrella.

I am. Who was it that said "you're either with us or against us"? If Dubai decides to join our enemies over one deal where they didn't get their way, they can expect to be treated as such.
To: navysealdad
45 days to review the port deal, but that's too much to ask considering they were going to be in the congressional limelight on C-SPAN every night. Americans would have been shown the UAE's hatred for infidels around the world, and their involvement in the global jihad financing deals that they refused to give the DOJ after 9/11. It would have been nice to see the Prince's poem on suicide bombers again...
