HAS ANYBODY SAID IT YET? BOYCOTT THE OSCARS (Oscars Live Thread)

I suppose on this thread it goes without saying, but I'll say in anyway...BOYCOTT THE OSCARS tonight.
I want the ratings for this year's program go into the toilet (where most the nominated movies belong). I won't waste my money to see the films, my electricity to watch the Oscars, or my time watching to witness Hollywood's self-adulation fest.
Pass it on...

which movie did you have to turn off?
Was it the Penguin thing? I have that on DVD, but haven't watched it yet.

Not only did 'March of the Penguins win,' but the best of the four documentary shorts, 'A Note of Triumph' also won. Give Norman a congratulations hug from all of us!
To: HHFi
The penguins should've been nominated in the Best Picture category. They'll get it for the sequal, "March of the Penguins II, gay penquins in a German zoo".

No. The craaaaaaaaaaab people, craaaaaaaaaab people, are in the audience.
I can't wait to see who wins "Biggest Douche in the Universe" this year!
To: HHFi
I couldn't agree more. You can see Hollywood half-clapping at Stewart. They just don't get it. NY humor isn't high brow enough for them, lol

J-Lo: Can't sing, can't dance, can't act.
But I like the weird green color of her dress.

With your comment on the bow - I figured.
I went to a southern university and was struck by the green and pink and bows. I was a tomboy and didn't even own electric rollers. It was an interesting cultural clash, to say the least.

"J-Lo can't dance". You nailed that one! Neither can Richard. Terrible movie. Simply awful.

I heard someone say (it may not be true anymore with all the Oscar hype) that MotP made more money than any of the best picture nominees.

Yes, March of the Penquins. I found it so depressing that I just couldn't stop crying.

I really like Joaquin Phoenix's acting. He is a much better actor than River was. He was good in Gladiator, and I loved his character in Signs. Haven't seen Walk the Line, but I've heard it is very good. I'll get it from Netflix.

LOL, had completely forgotten about them until your ping. I've never understood people's fascination with hollyweird.
