I suppose on this thread it goes without saying, but I'll say in anyway...BOYCOTT THE OSCARS tonight.

I want the ratings for this year's program go into the toilet (where most the nominated movies belong). I won't waste my money to see the films, my electricity to watch the Oscars, or my time watching to witness Hollywood's self-adulation fest.

I heard Reese already eclipsed Julia Roberts as the highest paid actress. Story somewhere last week said she's getting $29 million for some new movie, which is $5 million more than Julia Roberts got for the godawful "Mona Lisa Smile."

Even though he's politically a lefty, I would link to see Hoffman play Whitaker Chambers in a film version of Witness written and directed by Whit Stillman with righty actor John Malkovich as Alger Hiss.
