FR Poll: After a few days of fact finding and debate, do you now support or oppose the Dubai Ports deal?
Support
Oppose
Undecided
Did you know that this same company receives the shipments in the Middle East and now in Germany as well? They are already handling the military freight and have earned the trust.
I supported it from day one because I knew Dubai was not going to take over the ports, but some people did not want to beleive the facts, only the hillary/schumer/msm lies.
Thats it! Haliburton handles the cargo while we smuggle in Bush's barrels of oil to store at his ranch and cheney stands guard.
Support
Oppose. I'm Islamophobic.
I was opposed to it, then saw Hillary was opposed to it, so now I am looking for the flaw in my opposition.
I agree with you there. We have become too dependant on the enemies of our enemies. And on foreign oil. We need to strive for the position where we are holding all of, if not most of, the cards.
Support
Pres. Bush has been steadfast in the "War On Terror".
Why would he risk his entire legacy on a "little" ports deal?
He's NOT STUCK ON STUPID!
I finally figured out why Chuck Schumer was the first one to protest this Dubai Port deal. The Teamsters are against it because OVERPAID($100K) dock workers would lose jobs at all these ports that Dubai would take over. Dubai has streamlined/modernized logistics at the ports they have taken over around the world. Streamlined= lost union jobs=lost union voting power.
Look into it............
You are 100% correct. I oppose it. This issue is a loser for the Republicans. National security is the big Republican 'trump card'--and I hate to see this one issue 'diluted' that issue politically.
Support, after initial kneejerk fears. But I'm willing to listen to more reasoned debate.
I opposed it before I supported it. Now I'm undecided.
DP World won't control any of those three ports. They have limited subcontractor operations there.
See how important it is to get real facts instead of just engaging in fearmongering?
No country, with the possible exception of Pakistan, has done more to assist our efforts in Iraq and Afganistan than The UAE. It has also been of enormous benefit to the WoT overall.
It is remarkable that so many who consider themselves conservative have falled for the Party of Treason/Treason Media campaign of LIES. Even after thousands of examples of its perfidy and TOTAL disregard for the truth you still give them the benefit of the doubt vs. the President. Remarkable.
Our military has one of its largerst bases in the entire world in the UAE and we allow the RAT bastards to lead conservatives in spitting in their faces. If they wanted to do us damage they would attack the hundreds of naval vessels in their ports. Far more damage would be done us with a nuke amidst those battleships and air craft carriers than if one went off at a port here. General Tommy Franks has nothing but the highest praise of the leadership of the UAE and trusts them implicitly because of his long experience working closely with them.
But you can believe ChucK Schumer instead.
True, but also remember... It is not the UAE Government, but an individual Company who is making the purchase. It is purely a business deal.
As it is now, only about 25% of all containers brought into this country are inspected, and it is a random process. There have been terrorist cells here for over 10 years. I think that we as americans are being prejudice based off of the location of the company, and are turning into extreemists based off of fear. Let's face it... If they have intention of pulling another attack off, this is the least likely start point.
Opposed. We should heed the warnings.

This is a much better formulation of the issue than the earlier poll. Thanks for improving it.
OBTW: which was the day Cheney's shooting victim had his presser.
What fearmongering?
I still am sitting on the fence on this issue.
Thats why I read thru these posts, getting other opinions, debating the issues.
