Sen. Dianne Feinstein, the otherwise liberal Democrat from California, provided new evidence last week that politicians in Washington are starting to take heed of grassroots demands that our borders be secured.
Feinstein told Human Events that if we can build a fence along the entire Mexican border, we should build it, and that secure fencing should be constructed wherever the border can be easily crossed.
The relevance of this issue was dramatized by Feinstein's questioning of National Intelligence Director John Negroponte at the Senate Intelligence Committee's annual World Wide Threat hearing February 2.

... and we thought she was COMPLETELY clueless...
I agree...
...except that when we're done, I think we should also build a fence around her.
When is she up for re-election? First the Iowa in SF and now this? I'm suspicious, but if any good can come from this, we should take it.
Instead of a fence, how about a great wall like the one in china. It could be built with cheap illegal involuntary labor.
That fence will have holes cut in it three days after each section is completed.
--she can feel the wind-or in this case a gale-blowing--
You got it! It's her turn for reelection this year.
She is up for re-election this year. No doubt she has figured out which way the wind is blowing.
"she can feel the wind-or in this case a gale-blowing"
When will the 'publican leadership get a clue?
--too late, I'm afraid--
Clueless doesn't get you elected. This is a popular issue which, politically, is up for grabs. For the dems to stake out a close the borders stance makes a great deal of sense.
Feinstein is for a fence now....hmmmmm. Someone should ask her what she wants to do with all the illegals already in California. Bet her answer would be ..give em more benefits.
Until they change their stance on the ones already here the politicians are still in deep doodoo with me. And that goes for Republicans and Democrats.
This is not a newfound act for her. She has always had a tough stance on illegal immigration.

OMW! What have we come to when Feinswine gets this and our president doesn't?
They should be all wound up about Scott McClelland not fessing up yesterday on Mr.Whittington's enzyme release (silent heart attack).
Alot of people here don't seem to understand the link between the popularity of the President and the Congressional elections. Whenever an issue or article comes out about the dissatisfaction that many people have with this second term, everybody says "Oh', I guess he won't be elected again in 2008." Well, those people need to wake up. There is a direct correlation between the President's performance and the elctions that will take place later this year. If any of you don't think that people will vote this year in large part based on the actions of the incumbant President, you are sadly mistaken.
I wonder is her GOP opponent will take the opposite opinion.
We can't blame the Democrats for illegals.
