Lamarr Alexander and Connie Mack aren't on the list? Guess I'll have to go with Condi. I'd like to see Newt as president, but then again, I'd also like to date Rachel Leigh Cook.

On the whole, I haven't really seen anyone to excite me yet. Still, it usually takes until the primaries start to realize 1) who has the organization and resources to make a serious run, 2) who is going to find a way to stand out from the crowd, and 3) who is going to have both the previous points and still appeal to the conservative base. Right now, I don't see anyone on that list having the whole package, but we're also a long way from primary season.

Personally, I'd rather have Dick Cheney running.

You are welcome.

You will notice that I get attacked for pointing these things out, but these are his recorded votes and I've seen and heard him speak. My detractors attack me, not the negative information about Ricky.

The truth about him is disturbing. I've voted for him twice for senator. I was not in his district when he ran for the House. I beleived him to be a good man. Arrogant and smug, but a good man. I now believe that he merely rode the tide of conservatism in PA to get where he is. PA is a Democrat, but conservative state. His margin of victory has always been slim, but he won when he ran as an unabashed, hard line conservative. Now that he's pandering to every group that he can and selling out his base, he's way behind. That tells me that PA is conservative and Ricky is not.

One other thing that I should have mentioned was his website. On it he brags about the pork that he brings home. You'd think that he was striving to be Arlen Specter Jr and not some conservative icon. Conservatism is about ideas, not government funding at taxpayer expense even when the tax payers are from another state.

I post facts including the fact that you are a symbol of an ass.

You and your buddy attack me but don't even try to refute the facts that I provide.

Try to refute me. Hint: You can't. I'm right. All you have is personal attacks.

He's not my favorite, but he's actually pretty good, and nowhere near deserving of the hatred he gets here.

For McCain-Feingold, he deserves the undying emnity of any one and everyone who cherishes liberty.

He is also, IINM, the author of the tobacco settlement bill. He is a POS and a maniac that shouldn't be anywhere near the Oval Office, not even to visit.

He's still the Manchurian Candidate as far as I am concerned.

Yes, we have our own "Representative" Jo Bonner. He is basically a Sonny Callahan (his predecessor)clone. Politician to the bone. If your not getting some kind of government handout, he can see that you do, but if you actually need someone to represent you your completely out of luck. Globalist to the core.

Allen-Rudi. Condi will not run and unless there is a Western Goper who can balance the ticket and win in a blue state, Rudi will make inroads that unamed candidate will not.

I post facts including the fact that you are a symbol of an ass.

Another beacon of your maturity. Nevertheless...

Lying is not posting facts. Personal attacks on people who have a different opinion rather than sharing your different point of view isn't posting facts. Changing the context of a subject or changing the subject completely are not posting facts. You rarely post any facts - and when you do, if someone has a different take on the situation (or has additional facts to complement what you posted), you do one of the diversions above rather than respectfully point out where you think they are wrong. Then you start personal attacks (as you have done yet again here) and then accuse me of starting it - lying again, as you have also done here. But it doesn't matter - you lie, and you know it. So do I and most other people here. That's what matters. You only have credibility in your own mind. I've been on threads with you many times where you are throughout the whole thing insulting me (and everyone else) and then keep claiming after we respond that we can't have a discussion with people of different opinions - we can only personally attack, and all the while you started and, in fact, we were having discussions with people who disagreed and it was respectful all throughout the same thread with your nonsense personal "mine's bigger than yours" diatribes.

As I've said before - you keep thinking I've got one foot in the manure and I'm about to put the other foot in, and you just end up face down in it. On your best day, you aren't going to best me on my worst if you keep communicating like a teenager that lacks any discipline. You're going to have to learn how to communicate with people like an adult - and do so with facts to back up what you are saying - not just rage and not just hatred for people who dare have a different take or have facts you weren't aware of previously. Alright? Alright. Have a nice day.

I actually like Pawlenty - he's a governor, fairly conservative, and is from a swing state...but there's no real indication that he's running, unfortunately.

Governors are by FAR the mostly likely pool in which Presidents are choosen -- four of five of the last Presidents have been Governors, and G.H.B. was only elected President because he campaigned as Reagan II to succeeed the most popular President in modern times.

So how many Governors are on your list? Nada. A pity, because I can think a half dozen GOP Governors that would make better Presidents than half the people on the list. Some of the names being floated aren't likely to get nominated for Dog Catcher in 2008 (Santorum and Gingrich come to mind)

When was the last time the GOP actually elected a sitting Senator to the Presidency? That would be Sen. Warren Harding (R-OH) in 1920 -- yes, 88 years prior to the 2008 election. Harding happened to be in the right place at the right time thanks to a medoicre RAT opponent and being able to campaign on returning to "normalcy" with massive voter fatigue over the Woodrow Wilson years.

Some of the Governors slighted who would make excellent Presidential candidates include:

Tim Pawlenty
Mike Huckabee
Bill Owens
Haley Barbour
Don Carcieri
Mark Sanford

(and you can add KEN BLACKWELL to the list if he get elected Governor of Ohio in 2006. Yes, I think he could win the Presidency as a first term Governor -- his win would be a tremendous upset victory for the Taft infested Ohio GOP)

Mitt Romney and Bob Elrich would also make excellent GOP candidates, except they are too liberal to get the nod (now, they were women and/or minorities, the Condi Rice/Mel Martinez fanclub here would be drooling over them)

Pawlenty's my top choice, but since he is absent from your list and I didn't want to be polled as "Undecided", I picked Tancredo (mainly to piss off the Tancredo haters here). Congressman Tancredo would make an excellent running mate for Pawlenty, but nobody -- including Tom himself -- thinks he is likely to be nominated for the TOP of the ticket.
