Nicholas Watt Saturday February 11, 2006 The Guardian

The parliament in Bratislava voted on Thursday to hold elections early, on June 17, after Christian Democrats quit Mikulas Dzurinda's centre-right minority coalition government.

The party is angry with the prime minister after he refused to endorse a draft treaty with the Vatican that would have allowed healthcare workers in hospitals founded by the Catholic church to refuse to carry out abortions on conscience grounds.

Actually, it should be: "Intolerant Prime Minister Mikulas Dzurinda Insists that Catholics in Slovakia Must Fund and Perform Abortions. The Christian Democrats resign from Dzurinda's government in protest."

Maybe Catholics worldwide should riot and talk about the intolerance towards Catholism to insure that Slovkia keep their current laws.

Oh I forgot, Libs only care about the religions of Islam and Atheism.....

Bingo!

(Euro-style parliamentary coalitions have always confused me - our US system may not be perfect, but we never have to deal with tenuous coalitions).

If the government won't allow healthcare workers to refrain from assisting in the killing of its unborn citizens, then to hell with the government.
