True. However, neither PA or OH have.

Yesterday a victory celebration/parade was held in honor of the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl win. Lynn Swann, in his capacity as former Steeler and Hall of Famer, was one of the emcee's for the event. When Mr. Swann first arrived at the mike, the crowd of thousands assembled in Pittsburgh's Gateway Center started spontaneously chanting 'Governor, Governor.' Swann smiled and said 'this day is about the Black and Gold...' Our current Governor, democrat 'Fast Eddie' Rendell was in attendance...but decided to view the proceedings from the upper floor of a local office building rather than share the stage with Mr. Swann. Bill Scranton, Swann's opposition in the Republican primary, dropped out of the race yesterday, so Swann has the Republican nomination in the bag. Great news about Ohio as well.

One in every three Dem voters is black or Hispanic. Despite being loyal constituencies, they are not given many opportunities to run for statewide and national office. The Dem party is controlled by a thin veneer of white, male liberals who are the real plantation owners. A shift of even 10% to 15% of the black vote to the GOP would spell the end of the Dems as a major, national party.

maybe this is why the nasty name calling of the GOP is getting louder. Makes alot of sense the Dems strong hold might not be a strong hold anymore

None of this makes any sense. Am i wrong?

No.

My guess is that when the final tally comes in 2008 there will be no significant increase in the black vote for Republicans.

The DemoRATs after yesterday have confirmed that what works best is to ensure that Bush remains the white-man punching bag. The Republicans continue to cower in fear whenever JJ, Rev. Al and their gang whip out the race card.

You're right. He is. He seems very plain spoken for a politician. Not afraid to state his ideas clearly and oppenly, without all the usual BS.

Yeah, forgot about him. I even heard Ice-T has said things in the past that would lead one to believe he leans Republican. Dunno if I'd believe that one though.

"Despite being loyal constituencies, they are not given many opportunities to run for statewide and national office."

Not only that, all they ever get policy-wise for their loyalty is more programs that actually work to keep them "on the plantation".

re: #1, he used the present tense

He's not saying there has never been a black Governor, only that there are none currently

Articulate, liberal and black. Pick any two.

Barack Obama forces me to modify that position somewhat: articulate, liberal and and of black american heritage. Pick and two.

"If black voters start leaving the Democrats for Independent or Republican registrations, kiss the Dems goodbye."

Very true D-Chivas however I hope only those who believe in self-reliance, limited government, and not those mired in perpetual victim-hood come over to our side. I am very leery of Rat to GOP jumpers as they usually still behave like rats.

But given a chance to find black candidates who share the electorate's vision, most white voters jump at the chance.

Gee ... maybe most Americans don't give a rat's rear end about "race" after all. Maybe it's ideology/political philosophy that really matters.

Ya think?

Maybe?

ONCE MORE WITH LOVE

Blackwell, Ohio; Swann, Pennsylvania; Steele, Maryland

Just this AM I talked with a PA state worker that switched from demonRAT to pubbie, just to be able to vote for Swann in the primary. Praise the Lord.

I think Swann's chances are looking better. Last week I gave him a 40% chance of a win.

After the last couple days, I wouldn't be surprised to see him win by as much as 10 points against Rendell.

Nobody thought Arnold was gonna win in CA, either.

At some point, Blacks are going to start to wake up to how much the Democrats have used them over the past 50 years.
