"I told the players to make sure that they gave Pittsburgh credit," Holmgren said. "But we have played better than we did tonight. Unfortunately, we didn't play our best in the biggest game of the year."
"Houston should take Vince Young over Reggie Bush, they are fools if they don't."
You got that right.
Oddly enough, you fail to mention the non calls against Seattle. Holding can be called on just about every play. Some of you are going by the comments made by Madden. Once again, I can't believe what I'm seeing today. You fail to mention Hines Ward dropping a sure TD. Was it an exciting game? No. Is the officiating pretty bad this year? Yes. Did the officiating affect the outcome of this game? no. Calls went BOTH ways.
I really think this all stems from the democrats complaining about 2000, some of you have been influence by it. Sorry, that's how I see it.
Seattle is a great team. I haven't heard them complaining about the officiating, only some who seem to feel cheated by a game that wasn't as exciting as some of you hope.
also, i'm unsure exactly what non-calls you mean.
I'm not going to argue this anymore.
in fact, I'm going to remove myself from this place.
I'm a former dem watching a bunch of people claiming to be conservatives ACT JUST LIKE DEMOCRATS.
Sore/Loserman.
The Steelers won the Super Bowl. The Officials didn't HAND them anything.
This is EXACTLY what I have seen from democrats.
Congratulations, freepers,
You've become what you dislike.
Pretty much agree with you. My Hawks had a few opportunities to win, and should have caught the ball a couple of times. The time management toward the end of the 1st half was bad. I still don't know what was running through their heads, and I'm not even sure what the Steelers were thinking calling a timeout and saving the Hawks butt a few seconds on that clock either.
But before starting this game I stated I wanted a GOOD CLEAN TIGHT game regardless of outcome. We didn't get that. Oh, we hade a semi tight game most ways through but good? Clean? Nope.
We had some terrible calls, numerous questionable penalties and that one TD the Steelers, uh-uh, did not get.
Far as I'm concerned the Steelers won it because they played slightly less bad then we did toward the end, because we had our opportunities despite bad ref calls. It's part of football unfortunately. You have to battle through even bad calls from time to time, and they didn't do it. I'm not going to be the sort that denies the victories to the Steelers just because of bad calls. But I'm giving the Steelers only a 3 point victory. I just don't acknowledge that one TD.
Congrats to the Steelers. Bad game on both sides but you guys managed to battle through that and win. So the victory is deserved on that basis.
I expect my Hawks to use this as motivation to put a beating on everyone next year and get back to the SB and win though.
absolutely correct
I'd take the other running back from USC over Reggie Bush as well.
As a Steeler fan, I was plenty nervous watching that game. I believe most Steeler fans didn't allow themselves to be optimistic until the middle of the fourth quarter.
Well said. The Seahawks lost because they didn't play the edgy-type football that wins games.
The Seahawks lacked that "je ne sais quoi" quality that made the viewer go, Yes!
Why don't you go back to see what I've commented on in the past?????
I'm a FORMER dem who turned to the republicans when I saw the left go off the deep end. I saw a group offer NOTHING to America, but what I have witnessed today in here makes me wonder if you're not being influenced by their nonsense.
Some of you crybabies need to learn how the game of football works. Maybe Jack Lambert was right.
I repeat........
SORE/LOSERMAN!!!!!!
If it wasn't us, it would be funny.
Top Seattle Conspiracy Theory Memes:
Kudos to the players of both teams for an exciting game well-played. (Not the MOST exciting Super Bowl I've ever seen, but it had its moments.) Three cheers to the Steelers for bringing home the trophy, Western PA is enjoying the fact we're champions again after 26 long years.
I guess you are right. I mean, what's next? One of our players claiming the NFL wanted the Steelers to win? Nah, no player would ever do that....
HAAAHAHAH!!! priceless!!!
Re: the Seahawks not making maximum use of the seven seconds left at the end of the first half: I'm no football expert, but the coach's action mystified me, it struck me as something you'd see in a high school game, totally yahoo. But at the same time, as a Steeler fan, I said, Whew! Thank goodness Stupid messed himself out of some points, so much the better for us Steelers!
USA Today had a great overview of the game in Monday's sports section.
