Good morning, all.
Join us today for the final victory lap, the vote to "confirm Samuel Alito, of New Jersey, to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court."
It's all over except the final vote tally.
Lots of surprises yesterday at the HUGE vote to impose cloture, so perhaps there are still some surprise votes to come?

That's great! Disappointed we didn't get to see it though.

I have Schumer and Clinton, and worse, I have her right next door...
Wonder if she'll wear a black mourning suit for the SOTU address tonight. Let us know if you hear screaming and stuff being thrown around when she parks her broom tonight.

Yep without glasses, wrinkles are not a problem....but reading FR is....
As it becomes harder and harder for me to read, I'm thinking wrinkles aren't that big o' deal.

I hate seeing those photos- why do I feel sorry for him..UGH...having empathy stinks sometimes....Dang, that explains why I feel such glee everytime JFK embarrasses himself again, and again, and again...you MUST have gotten both my share and your share of empathy toward him. That's ok, though, don't you worry about it...I think I'll be all right going on without it. ;-)

Rush just said that essentially Chuckie Schumer, who has repeatedly stated that Alito is "out of the mainstream"...has proven to all that it's the 25 NAY votes that are not in the mainstream.
Gotta love that El Rusbo!

Dems voted for cloture to appeal to the moderates in the Democrat party, then voted against Alito on the floor vote to try to appease the left-wing kooks in the party. The thing is, the kooks will not find this acceptable. BINGO!!!!
As near as I can tell, everyone in Colorado is ticked off at Salazar. Nice bonus!

Rush is absolutely right...
Congratulations Justice Alito!!!

Chaffe is goin' DOWN!!!Let's hope so.
If this didn't put the nail in his coffin, I don't know what will.

Daily Kos still MIA. Did Soros pull the funding?);-)
To: Howlin
Fox says he HAS been sworn in!
My predictions: Committe vote on Alito - January 24 (not the January 17 as scheduled); floor vote on Jan 31 (not the Jan 20 currently scheduled).7 posted on 01/09/2006 11:35:22 AM EST by Cboldt
I admit it was a bit of a guess, but not a wild guess. Not as wild as "there will be a successful filibuster and the Alito nomination will be sent back to the President."
I'm also happy that "stealth as a tactic" is losing sway.

You're absolutely correct. The DU'ers and Kos-ites are furious.
Fine with me. The more furious they get, the whackier they get. And the happier I am.

Maybe he's over there right now, robing up!
Good way to put it, Howlin..."robing up"....heh, heh, heh...should go in the FR lexicon!

That is great....he will get to enjoy 2 days of pomp...which he deserves...after all of the crapola that the dems have put him though...
plus having it take so long...

CBS radio news reports that Alito will be sworn-in within the hour!! Bump!
