From what I have read, it's 4:30pm...but I've been hearing/reading the Dims may have enough votes for a Filibuster...

I skipped out on the whole Alito confirmation hearings, after what happened with Meirs I was just sick of the whole issue but what is so bad about Alito that the Socialists in the Senate feel they should filibuster? Is it just because he would tilt the court a little more to the right and they cannot have that because then their pet issues go right out the proverbial window?

The DU'ers are claiming victory, even if the filibuster fails. And may they have many more such victories.

I was thinking the same thing. Someone on one of the morning shows mentioned that Clarence Thomas decided to lean VERY VERY RIGHT after his confirmation nightmare.
Anyone else hear that? Maybe I heard it on Laura Ingraham.

He's gearing up for it! His butler manservant is whipping up a nice peanut butter & jelly sandwich (no crust!) for him right now.

Nothing since ...
However, two Dakotan Democrats -- Sen. Tim Johnson of South Dakota and Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota -- have said they would vote down a filibuster. Johnson said he'll vote for Alito, and Conrad said he's "leaning in favor" of the candidate.

CNN just announced that the gang of 14 will meet one hour before the vote. He speculated that they will agree that this is not severe enough to filibuster and will end it. Continued to say that Alito was a sure thing.

No, unfortunately, they keep saying that President W is dumb, which he keeps proving is not the case.
Years from now a stable, democratic Iraq will prove all the naysayers wrong, and a vibrant American economy will as well.

pet issues go right out the proverbial window? These little pet issues are NOT constitutional. Alito threatens them 'cause he will strictly interpret our constitution. If he does, those pet issues are history.

What the Rats are doing has nothing to do with Alito, it has everything to do with the next vacancy.
