The telling poll is how Bush is doing around the world.

The lower his numbers, the better he's doing and the more terrorists we are killing.

Time for some Zogby special sauce weekend polling to knock 10% off those numbers.

Don't forget that this is just adults being polled. I believe that if he only included "likely voters", like he did for the 2004 election, then the results would be higher.

My question would be this:

Do you want Bush to protect you or do you want a Democrat to protect the terrorists that are trying to kill you.

That would separate the humans from the suicidal mob!

Someone has to tell rassmussen to go away. His numbers are getting in the way of the leftist activist agenda that is anti Bush .

no offense to the poster here, but if you look at the last month of numbers, this particular poll is either an anomaly or the beginning of a trend, but in either case, no conclusion can be drawn from it as of yet.

I thought the Bush approval rating was 12%, the economy is going into the tank, we are losing the war on terror, Congress is for sale, every phone in America (except big GOP donors) is being tapped, innocent people are are being sent to foreign countries to be tortured and the Religious Right is taking over the Supreme Court.

Considering all that 48% is not bad.

The national telephone survey of 1,500 Adults was conducted by Rasmussen Reports over the past three nights.

I haven't had a landline for almost 5 years now. Over time this data will get more and more skewed until it becomes irrelevant.

What the polls won't tell you is how many of the 51% unfavorable are angry about chaos on our borders and an expanding federal government. They'd never go for a RAT.

Look at these numbers under another light.  Check the approval ratings for Congress: http://www.pollingreport.com/CongJob.htm

Just my opinion, but maybe if Congress would get up off its collective butt and enact some of the legislation President Bush has sent their way, all the approval ratings would improve significantly.  My sense is that Congress is weighing down President Bush's approval rating.

OK...so Scott has him at 49% today...clearly now becoming a trend from 46% to then 48% to the 49% today.....and ABC in your post yesterday had him at 47% and I just saw this on another thread....

>>>>>>>>>>>>>Jan. 29, 2006 — - A weakened George W. Bush faces the nation in his 5th State of the Union address beset by war fatigue, persistent discontent on the economy and other domestic issues, ethics concerns and rising interest in Democratic alternatives in this midterm election year. Bush's bottom-line job rating -- 42 percent of Americans approve of his work, 56 percent disapprove <<<<<<<<

No matter where we go, the number for Bush is high 40s, that much I'll grant, but someone earlier on this thread mentioned it and I agree completely, whether its Rasmussen or others, if they are polling based on the phone book, these polls will have to become incredibly more sophisticated, since many folks don't use land lines at all any longer. None of my kids do and we are inches from dropping ours to go to cells only.

Interesting times.......but I do agree Rasmussen poll is trending up.
