From DiFi's office:
Senator Feinstein to Vote No on Cloture for the Nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court
Washington, DC U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) today announced that she will vote no on cloture regarding the nomination of Judge Samuel A. Alito, Jr. to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court.
Based on a very long and thoughtful analysis of the record and transcript, which I tried to indicate in my floor statement yesterday, Ive decided that I will vote no on cloture.
I'm confused..
Death wish!
Wasn't DiFi one of the gang of 14?
Let them filibuster then nuke.
No we don't.
On this one, the moderates will come out. If the left gets its 41 votes, mazel tov. They will still force a nuclear option, Alito will get confirmed and more RAT senators will be defeated in 06.
Turns out all the Senators who we think will vote NO on Filibuster are just waiting to get a push from their leftist constiuents to vote YES.
"SENATOR FEINSTEIN TO VOTE NO ON CLOTURE (WILL VOTE YES ON FILIBUSTER)"
Did anyone expect a different outcome?
Senator Melfi speaks.
A. Future Nominations. Signatories will exercise their responsibilities under the Advice and Consent Clause of the United States Constitution in good faith. Nominees should only be filibustered under extraordinary circumstances, and each signatory must use his or her own discretion and judgment in determining whether such circumstances exist. E. Benjamin Nelson (D-NE) John McCain (R-AZ) Mike DeWine (R-OH) John Warner (R-VA) Joe Lieberman (D-CT) Robert Byrd (D-WV) Susan Collins (R-ME) Mary Landrieu (D-LA) Mark Pryor (D-AR) Olympia Snowe (R-ME) Lindsey Graham (R-SC) Ken Salazar (D-CO) Lincoln Chaffee (R-RI) Daniel K. Inouye (D-HI)
DEMOCRATS
Joseph I. Lieberman, Connecticut
Robert C. Byrd, West Virginia
E. Benjamin Nelson, Nebraska
Mary Landrieu, Louisiana
Daniel Inouye, Hawaii
Mark Pryor, Arkansas
Ken Salazar, Colorado
They are daring Frist to try the so-called nuclear reaction. Evidently they don't think that all the Republicans will support it.
55 GOP Senators. All will vote for Cloture.
Not all may vote for Alito.
3 Dems will vote for Alito. Johnson, Byrd and Nelson.
2 Dems say they will vote NO on a Confirmation, YES on Cloture. Landreiu and Salazar.
55 + 5 = 60 = Game, Set, Match.
Hey DiFi - Here's your sign.
Thanks to both of you. I hadn't thought so, but I saw someone mention in the last couple of days that she was and I didn't have the time to check it out.
BINGO!! YOU GOT IT!
as I have been saying, this is not over yet.
