I'm watching him on my laptop and can't see hardly any thing.
He's giving them heck on the "unitary" executive. Good for him!

I've been reading "The Camel Club" most of the day, and haven't been able to figure out what day it is. LOL

I have serious concerns for the mental well being of these people, but then again they are probably over the edge already, cause they say the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again.........

...and expecting the same result.

I don't know about that...he nominated her for the DC Circuit, knowing that the DC circuit is a step towards the SCOTUS on other occasions...

Why would you think he wouldn't...in what ways is she too conservative for him??

OK - but seriously - what do the numbers literally reflect?

Thanks.

I hope the Dems trigger the nuke option - led into the mushroom cloud by "liveshot" Kerry.

It means yet another failure for the Demon-RATS. I can't wait to see Justice Alito walk into the House Tuesday night!

Chrissy has on Bob Shrum and Pat Buchanan...and they are discussing the elections in today...where Hamas won the majority...

AND, of course they BOTH agree that Bush is a big loser in this situation...I ignore Shrum...

but, Buchanan says that democracy in the Middle East equals fascism...and that Bush was sold a bill of goods...when he was told that democracy will bring peace...because "look what happened today...a failure"...

What a crock...these people expect these elections to be the FINAL outcome...NO>..this is the first election for these people...and they don't know what happens..

For Buchanan to say some of the crapola that he spewed...makes me sick!! He is such an anti-semite..and he can't hide it.

I don't know about that...he nominated her for the DC Circuit, knowing that the DC circuit is a step towards the SCOTUS on other occasions.

Her decisions at that level have to follow SCOTUS, and any steps "out of line" are subject to reversal by a higher court. SCOTUS is indeed a different level. SO, he can "afford" to be more radical at that level, since any decisions will be tempered by a superior power.

...in what ways is she too conservative for him?

She is a small government person, a libertarian if you will. Government is not the solution. In contrast, I think GWBis more willing to use government power for domestic well being.

From an anti-JRB website ...

California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown, nominated for the D.C. Circuit, cleared the Senate Judiciary Committee on a 10-9 vote, with Senator Larry Craig praising Brown for speaking with "golden eloquence" about basic rights. But a report from the People for the American Way and the NAACP reveals Justice Brown's true record. Brown on seniors: "Today's senior citizens blithely cannibalize their grandchildren because they have a right to get as much "free" stuff as the political system will permit them to extract." Brown on age discrimination: "Discrimination based on age does not mark its victim with a stigma of inferiority and second class citizenship...it is the unavoidable consequence of that universal leveler: time." Brown on New Deal programs, such as Social Security: "The New Deal...inoculated the federal Constitution with a kind of underground collectivist mentality. The Constitution itself was transmuted into a significantly different document...1937...marks the triumph of our own socialist revolution." Brown on government: "Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline in the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." Brown, ignoring Supreme Court precedent, argues that racially discriminatory speech in the workplace is protected by the First Amendment. She has also denounced the Supreme Courts landmark ruling U.S. v. Carolene Products; a view which, if adopted "would signal the death-knell for a vast range of health labor, and environmental standards it enacted during the last century." The NYT characterized her record as a "war on mainstream legal values that most Americans hold dear."

Can you imagine GWB taking any of the positions that JRB is held to have, above?

Plus, we have the example of GWB nominating Miers, and have a fair idea of Miers' world-view. It must comport with GWB's.

because "look what happened today...a failure"...

Whether Pat (or us, for that matter) likes it or not, what "happened today" was not a failure; they have free non-violent elections.

We don't like WHO they chose, but they did get to CHOSE somebody.

Pat is an a$$hole.

It means we won, they lost!.........We have enough yes votes to put judge Alito in the Supreme Court. ,,,,,,,,,Kerry the loser is phoning in a fake filibuster from the ski slopes of Switzerland, but forgot to do the math. (he doesn't have the votes to sustain one.) Fat Teddy also wants a filibuster but cant tear himself away from the bar to bother...........seriously ...Frist got REID to agree to a vote on 4.30 on Monday and Reid sadly agreed... so......by Tuesday at noon set your vcr to see Roberts swear in our new Judge Alito.........thats the scoop IMHO!

Yeah. I recently heard Buchanan say the Iraq War was the "biggest foreign-policy blunder of his life". Nobody really listens to him anymore.

ARE YOU WATCHING HAIRBALL???

I clicked on "reply" and had a computer meltdown. Had to reboot. I missed the Bibi interview because I became mesmerized by Jeff Sessions, but switched over for Pat "The Anti-Semite" Buchanan. Eagleberger was on earlier and said he knew people were going to try and blame the US and Israel for this Hamas thing. He said it's Fatah's fault because they are so damned corrupt. Chris asked Schrum and Pat if the Abramoff pics were important and they both yelled no. LOL.

John Kerry explains his faux filibuster strategy (to the tune of Carole King's "It's Too Late"):

Stayed in Switzerland all morning just to pass the time
I'm hiding out here
there can be no denying
Left-wing interest groups are raging
And we Democrats can't stop lying

And it's too late baby, now it's too late
Our smears of Alito just didn't make it
The filibuster option has died this time
But that doesn't mean I can't fake it

It used to be so easy pandering to NARAL and gays
No Rush, No 'net, no FOX News
Those were definitely better days
But we've lost our media monopoly
Our power to "bork" has gone away

And it's too late baby, now it's too late
Our smears of Alito just didn't make it
The filibuster option has died this time
But that doesn't mean I can't fake it

Moonbats will love me when I run in 08
Abortionists and pornographers
will finance me at top rate
Alito's kicking our asses
But my faux filibuster will still rate

And it's too late baby, now it's too late
Our smears of Alito just didn't make it
The filibuster option has died this time
But that doesn't mean I can't fake it
