Snowe is going to go on record here shortly, because she's supposed to speak before the end of this hour.

Since there was unanimous consent for the cloture vote on Monday... Can there still be a filibuster ?

A pending cloture motion doesn't indicate the presence of filibuster, a cloture motion can be used to facilitate time management. What folks have been referring to as filibuster is when the cloture motion is rejected, which happens if fewer than 60 vote in favor of it.

The status up a rejected cloture motion is that the matter before the Senate is still pending, the nomination, in this case, is still "alive." Debate goes on, but taking the vote on the nominee is put off. Taking the vote is put off until either there is unanimous consent to proceed to the vote, or a cloture motion passes.

CNN offers extensive coverage of the world economic forum in Davos, Switzerland

CNN is to broadcast a week of coverage dedicated to the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos , Switzerland , including documentaries, live debate, interviews and regular news updates.

Must be there; if we are really lucky, he'll make as big a fool out of himself as Jordan Eason did a couple of years ago.

I never repeat anything from KOS ... But I'm making an exception.

For the record, I don't worship anyone, friend. Believe me, the Republicans didn't get where they are by debating who, what, when and where. The base just gets in line. Yeah, they're a party filled with dummies who just do what they're told

This is why Alito is the nominee, instead of Miers? Their logic astounds...

Bah...if you are out there...did you get a chance to watch Hairball yet???

My granddaughter is here...so I didn't see his early show...for HIS reaction to Bush's presser or this vote.

I did see where someone on the presser thread commented that Fat Timmy was being his usual "bash Bush" self after the presser was over...

Thanks for letting me know. I may actually break a rule and watch it on a "need to know what the enemy is spewing" whim.

When Angelina has the kid, she'll dump Brad for her lesbian lover.

...which is also a prediction that my wife made. She's a very insightful woman.
