Good morning once again, all you fellow political junkies. You know THATS right....look at the "agreement" that those two supposed GOOD friends Specter and Leahy had before Christmas...

George Soros does NOT allow agreements to get in the way of his agenda..

What does Frist have to do, and when, in order to make sure that a vote occurs by the weekend..?

There is no way to guarantee a time, other than a cloture vote occurs with one full day intervening between filing the motion and taking the cloture vote.

If a cloture motion was filed today (it won't be), the cloture vote would be on Friday.

I'm not sure if there is some arcane rule regarding weekend "days," but assume they are like weekdays. To wit, a cloture motion filed on Friday could result in a cloture vote on Sunday. Under ordinary circumstances, with no session days scheduled for weekend, a cloture motion filed on Friday results in a cloture vote on the Tuesday following.

Another point is that a failed cloture vote does -NOT- kill the nomination. If there is a cloture vote, expect a few points of order being raised before the cloture vote is taken.

Regarding Hillary...

She is dragging out HillaryCare...which we KNOW would provide abortions to all those poor, poor women that have nothing better to do than get pregnant...when they know better...

SO...her vote is a given....BUT, I wonder if she will have the courage of her convictions and actually come out in favor of murdering babies....by giving a speech on the Senate floor...OR, will she be conveniently absent for all debate.

I just could not last yesterday. .Today will be worse. I think I will work on organizing paperwork instead(I hate doing that most of all the chores!)

I hope to listen to the first part but cannot bear to listen to what the delusional left base is screaming for and been getting ..the dim Senators' impeachment practice speeches.(In their dreams) This has been a disgusting spectacle..I saw our press conf, changed channels for theirs. Leahy was particularly slimy yesterday. I did see Graham's "Clean your clock" segment but missed Coburn"s great statement!
I feel sure if the rules permit them to delay..the dims will.
Judge Alito will be confirmed..of that I am confident.

Interesting that Ted Stevens is sitting in the Chair as I believe he is still officially undecided. Frist --we'll go into the night. Wants to lock in a time certain for the vote, but still no agreement. Moving to executive session to consider the nomination. McCain up to talk about lobbying reform--what Frist must go through.
